William John Fleming

In Memorial

Fleming William CROPPEDWilliam John Fleming
September 29, 1951 – June 29, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Willie at
home on June 29th, 2023. Beloved husband for 40 years of Debbie (Donald). Cherished father of Stacy (Oneil)
and Jenna. The best “Pa” to Taylor, Kylie, and Beckett. Dear brother of Lois (Richard), Joan, and Gladys (Paul). Predeceased by his father William, mother Beryl, and brothers John and Jim. Willie retired from CN Rail after 38 years of being dedicated to his job. Although, he often told people that he was a retired farmer because of his love of farming and his willingness to help anyone in need. He was a real joker – always telling anyone that would listen to a joke or two. More often
than not, the jokes were considered inappropriate, but everyone seemed to love them regardless. He will be missed by the hockey community in all of New Tecumseth and Bradford. He loved hockey – he was a coach, volunteer, and self-proclaimed scout.
In memory of William, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society registration # 118829803.
A celebration of life will be held at the family farm 5774 5th Line Tottenham from 1-4pm on July 23, 2023.
Condolences may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

Willie was a very friendly, generous and kind man. He was very funloving and loved his family and Hockey! I met Willie through my work for the B. Bradford Rattlers. He never missed a game and we quikly became good friends. \he volunteered his time to the team and although we offered to pay him he absoutely refused to take a dime. I will miss him greatly and all the laughs we shared together and am greatful to have known him!

We are so sorry to hear about Billy’s passing. The Fleming and Elmer families were farming neighbours, and I have known Billy since elementary school at SS No 6, Mount Pleasant (current site of Tecumseth South Public School). Every time I bumped into Billy, usually at Foodland or the Beeton Fair, he always had a cheerful smile and greeting.
