PARKES, Michael.jpg lr PSIt is with absolute sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael John Parkes on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Michael was born on March 2, 1986 and lived his whole life in Tottenham. He is predeceased by his Grandparents; John and Dorothy Farmer and Amy Parkes. He will be forever missed by his parents, Ken and Brenda, his brother Justin, his aunts and uncles; Marilyn and Ron Christie of Brighton, Barry Parkes of Huntsville, Ron Smith (predeceased by aunt Margaret) of Wasaga Beach, Sharon and Gord Scott of Goodwood, David Farmer of Newmarket, John Farmer of Cookstown and Debbie Hotte (nee: Farmer) of Mississauga. He also leaves behind his many wonderful cousins. Bowser his pet dog and best companion, misses Michael each and every day. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Tottenham (25 Richmond St. E. Tottenham, ON) on Thursday December 28, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm. For those who wish, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family. Condolences and memories may be left for Michael’s family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

    We are just devasted and bewildered by the passing of Mike. Mike and Jay were friends, and as you might know, we lost Jay in October. We understand your loss and deep feelings of grief and can make no sense of any of this.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I grew up with Mike at TPS and throughout high school. He was a big part of my childhood, I have so many fond memories of him. He was a kind hearted individual and I feel lucky to have known him.

    Dear Ken, Brenda & Justin
    Our family was so saddened to hear of Michael’s sudden passing. We have so many good memories of time spent with you at the baseball diamond. Michael was such a talented athlete and kind, personable young man. Rob remembers fondly all the times you treated him to the cottage. He always had a great time with Mike.

    Sending my condolences from Bc. I grew up with Mike, being Kara Mabbett’s best friend, both at TPS and then Banting. Like most, we grew apart after high school but would randomly touch base. Wishing you all the strength during this time, Mike was very special.

    I am so sorry to hear about Michael’s passing. I moved to Tottenham after grade 3 and have known Mike since meeting him in grade 4.
    We lost touch after high school unfortunately but, he was always a great friend.
