Shawn Edward Salisbury

In Memorial

October 15, 1976- August 24, 2024

Passed away at his home in Tottenham Ontario, Saturday August 24, 2024. Shawn Salisbury at the age of 47 years, beloved father of Abbegail Cerny-Salisbury and the late Dylan Cerny-Salisbury. Loving son of Edward and the late Catherine Salisbury. Dearly loved brother of Carrie Salisbury (Jason), and Tim Salisbury (Elaina). Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Joshua, Ella, Logan, and Beckham. Forever in the hearts of his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Shawn was born on October 15th, 1976 and grew up in Meadowvale where he made many memories with family and friends. Shawn’s beautiful children, Dylan and Abbey, lit up his world. He loved them more than anything.

Shawn was someone who could always make you laugh. He had a remarkable ability to see the humor in any situation, brightening the days of those around him with his quick wit. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts and he always took an opportunity to bring a smile to someone’s face, or to cheer up a friend in need.

Shawn loved working with his hands and creating whether it was the culinary arts, carpentry, or simply helping out someone in need. He took time to craft things, not for himself, but to bring joy to others. His talent for craftsmanship was evident in everything he did, and he took pride in his work. He found immense satisfaction knowing that he was helping others.

Though his time with us was far too short, Shawn lived with purpose and a heart full of love. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Rest in peace, Shawn. Your laughter and light will never be forgotten.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Sunday September 8, 2024 from 10:30am until the time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shawn and Dylan’s memory to CAMH: The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health or Walk to Remember: Heartache 2 Hope, would be appreciated. Tim, Ted, Carrie all your loved ones and little ones. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Growing up an only child but as close as one could be to Tim I’m truly devastated for your loss. I have many memories of Shawn. I haven’t seen him for years yet his laughter and ability to observe a moment and find immediate humour have never been forgotten. I pray you all hold onto great memories and heal your pain.

    Sals,

Words are not enough to begin to describe the joy you brought to my family and me. From demonstrating your amazing carpentry skills with the driftwood cork board we made to the long conversations into the small hours putting the world to rights.

You have left us too soon my friend and you will be missed. I still use you “Bubba” cup and think of you.

    Until we meet again.

    Paul

I met Shawn when he became a ‘Screener’ for Covid at Simcoe Manor then hired on the maintenance team. His warmth, friendliness, smile and sense of humour will be greatly missed!

    Sals

My Sunday morning doorstep problem solver! We really did put the world right during those chats. I cherish the times we had together, we laughed a lot, we sang, we danced all in all GTHBA!!

Im so pleased you met and got to know Paul and Kai, spent time with Trev and the ducks, they were good listeners even if noisy!

You will forever be in my heart, you had so much love to give and we certainly felt it. Go do you, keep Snow and Labouche on repeat and look out for coffee tables, Ok maybe the coffee table was my fault!

Love you long time. Sleep well my friend. I will think of you always and smile.

    All our love

    Louise, Paul & Kai

Shawn I feel truly blessed for the short time I was fortunate enough to work with you. All working in healthcare realise the stress that comes with caring for the resident’s & their loved ones. However you never let that show or change who you were. You were kind & funny with everyone you met. God bless you & your loved ones.

I am so sorry Ted and Abbey. My deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of working with Shawn for about two years. In that time we got to know each other and I will miss our early morning chats. Shawn had a great sense of humour and a strong concern for others. I will miss him and the Manor and the Village will miss him too.
