Megan Mae Dean

In Memorial

DEAN, MeganDean: Megan Mae

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Megan Mae Dean, age 25, on January 4, 2026, at her home in Brampton, Ontario.

Megan Mae was born on May 22, 2000, in Alliston, Ontario, to Bruce Dean and the late Joyce Dean.

Megan will be lovingly remembered by her father Bruce Dean, her brother Jessie Dean, her grandparents Paul and Inez Dean, her grandmother Joyce Shepherd, as well as her extended family, friends, and colleagues.

Megan was a registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. As a pediatric occupational therapist, she was passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based, play-based care, supporting children and their families in building confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.

Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. For those who wish donations in Megan’s memory to the Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated.  Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

I am truly heartbroken over the loss of Megan. We met on the very first day of OT school, commuting together on the GO train, and through classes, study sessions, and forming our close group of six grad school friends, I came to know her as truly sweet, genuine, and bright. She had a way of bringing warmth and care to everyone around her and I will always treasure the memories and friendship we shared. My deepest condolences go out to her family. Megan will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

It was an honour and privilege to have worked with Megan. She brought kindness, gentleness, and warmth to every interaction with her coworkers, the children she worked with, and the families she supported.

Her expertise and the conversations shared over tea and coffee will be fondly remembered. Thank you for sharing your grace and compassion with us. My deepest condolences are with her family.

Bruce and Jesse – Megan was a kind and sweet young woman who loved her family. She worked hard to earn her degree to be an Occupational Therapist. I will miss her, as I do her mom Joyce. Broken hearted and devastated by the loss of them. I will plant a tree in memory of Megan and Joyce. Hopefully in a garden with butterflies!!!

To Megan’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. Megan was a great friend and a beautiful soul. We met in grade 9 and spent a lot of time together throughout high school. We shared many of the same classes, as well as friends. She was always up for adventures with me. We enjoyed finding waterfalls to go to and we always had a blast doing that. You’ll be missed by many Megan and I’ll always cherish our many memories together. ❤️❤️❤️
