Folkert ‘Jasper’ Bruining

In Memorial

Bruining, FolkertFolkert “Jasper” Bruining

February 2, 1946 – January 26, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jasper. Beloved husband of Mollie Lorraine Bruining (nee Irwin). Loving father of Terry (Anne), Jeff (Cassandra) and Jason. Dear grandfather of Maddi, Ben, Alanna (Becky), Victoria and Kyle. Great-grandfather of Colton and Camden. Sister-in-law Alice Burrows. Jasper will be missed by his siblings Gertie, Jenny (Len), Lydia, Carman, Susan, Frank (Darlene), Mary (Craig), Rick (Doreen) and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jasper found his greatest joy with family and friends, laughing, sharing stories, and never passing up a good card game. He looked forward to traveling to his Florida home each winter to escape the cold.

Papa adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always happy to watch their activities provided there were snacks and a warm place to sit.

The man loved food the way he lived life devoted, opinionated, and a little dramatic about it. His travels and outings were planned around his favourite food stops. Swiss Chalet has lost a loyal customer.

Many families are grateful to Jasper for building their homes, and his work remains a visible and lasting legacy in the community. Now that Jasper has joined his many golfing buddies for the tee-off time they have long been holding for him, we are sure he will finally have his best game ever.

Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.
