Cacciotti: Sandro David “Sandy”,
Unexpectedly passed away on September 30, 2026 at Southlake Health Centre in Newmarket at the age of 71 years. Sandy was the beloved husband of Linda DeBacker. Loving father of Lidia Cacciotti (Walter), Daniela Bartholomew, and Alessandra Cacciotti, and dear step father of Mark DeBacker. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Mikayla, Julianna, Madison, and Dominik. Predeceased by his parents, Tomasso and Lidia Cacciotti and his sister Maria Basso (the late Tony).
Sandy spent countless hours in the shop building custom Harley Davidson, which he loved to do. Enjoying long rides on the open road with good friends, and escaping to Florida, which was a true second home to him. Above all, he cherished fishing trips and spending every moment he could with his grandchildren.
Sandy will live forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing a ride, a laugh or a moment with him.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Sunday October 4, 2026 from 2-5pm and on Monday October 5, 2026 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 11am. Cremation will follow. For those who wish donations in Sandy’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

I just heard the sad news today, and was shocked to hear your passing.
Sandy was a great friend I lost touch for over 30 years, just last week I was telling a friend about Sandy. He was very wise & witty he had technical solutions even outside his expertise. A great fun person to be around always had a smile and welcoming to people from all walks of life. As a younger person at the time when first saw Sandy with his long hair and biker look I thought he was intimidating, but after seeing that huge smile I was taken in by his charm. Keep on riding your motorbikes and keep on smiling old friend. much love & respect to the family.
Randy Bennett says
I met Sandy on the first Fungulo ride that he and Linda organized.
I felt welcomed by both of them from the minute I arrived at the event.
This was at their home, and they treated everyone who attended this charity ride as if we were Family.
I was so impressed by their hospitality and kindness that I got up the next morning and drove over to their house to see if I could help with the clean-up.
This allowed me to better get to know Sandy and to witness first-hand how kind a person he was. This was the beginning of a relationship that led to many talks and Sunday morning coffees in his shop, (his domain). Sandy was very philosophical. He always looked to find the good in people. When Sandy got sick I would still visit with him on occasion, No shop, No bikes, Just two old guys talking about life.
I say on occasion because I know now I should have done it more often. They say Life has a way of teaching you lessons, well so does Death. Labour Day Monday I attended the car show in Schomberg. Sandy was there. In fact, many of the guys that I had come to know from the rides and by hanging at Sandy’s shop were also there. It was like a reunion. There were a number of people that went up to Sandy to say hi and chat with him. Like always Sandy made time for each and every one of us. At the time None of us knew that this would be the last time we would we get to share a moment with Him. Maybe just Maybe Sandy Knew.
If you are fortunate enough to have a friend Sandy in your life, Cherish every Minute. I will miss him Dearly.

When I heard that Sandy passed away, my first words were “No Way”. Had heard of some health issues, but I believed in his way of approaching things and overcoming them. Being the person he was, the fight he fought brought him to meet our maker who works in mysterious ways but as the old saying “only the good die young” came into play. Will miss the garage time, all the conversations of many subjects and most of all his presents, friendship and his master knowledge of motorcycles. Sandy thank you for letting me be part of your life. To the Family my deepest condolences.

My Nonno was an amazing man, no I wasn’t his real grand kid, but he sure treated me like one, I wish I could tell Nonno that I lived him more then I did, me and him didn’t really talk much after I turned 11, and I hate myself for it, but it’s to late to say sorry now, I miss Nonno so much, he was in so much pain tho, he was supposed to go in for Keemo that day, but he unexpectedly passed, I don’t know whether to cry, or take this as a God sent. I love Nonno more than words coulda described, he did everything for me, and if I knew that was his last night, I woulda never left his side, I love you so much Nonno, and I hope we find each other again in this life time, and every life time on.

Dear Family of Sandro, it hurt my heart to no imagination hearing of the passing of my dear childhood friend. Sandro and I traveled life together, experiencing many firsts. We were more than friends. We were as close to brothers as two guys can be. I have amazing memories of Sandro and they will stay with me forever ♥️. Love Harold Tabone
Mark DeBacker says
He was an incredible man, full of life and love for others around. Selfless and loved by many.
I recall him always having his bike shop full of people, daily passing by to get their bikes fixed or simply coming to shoot the breeze and have a laugh.
I recall the small things – he was always 3 step ahead of me. Called me on my bs.
I had an Eagle Talon sport car when I was a teen, in the winter, I bent my rim, I told everyone it was a speed bump. He gave me that knowing stare and simply said .. “he (me) was drifting around a corner”. Lol
…..he was right, 1 amongst 100 other stories he called me out on. Haha
He was a kind and great influence with endless love for family and family related events.
I have always looked up to Sandro as a heroic leader and will forever miss his optimistic look on life.
Thank you for raising me to the best of your ability, you did great.
Rest in paradise, I hope you’re riding into the sunset with your favorite screamin eagle.
forever missed,
never forgotten and always loved until we meet again. ❤️

When people like Sandro leave us, hopefully for a better place and time, we’re reminded of how fortunate we all were to have known Sandro . He was a titan .
Sandra had a beautiful ,soft way of making you feel comfortable, the smile followed by the chuckle, followed by few comforting words that were always appropriated.
In the time that I’ve known him, I came to realize that this man possesses a wonderful methodology on how we should all live our lives. Moments , we all experience as humans have a way of distracting us from what is important in life.
Sandro possessed a wonderful ability to focus on what is important-our relationships with one another. He did not let the stressful experiences of life interfere with his humanity. He genuinely cared about people ;to Linda ,Mark and Dominik , and all of his family and friends , let us always remember his endearing smile and chuckle ,.Let us consider ourselves fortunate to have known an individual who has given us a beautiful message -while we continue our journey -Let us be a little bit more like Sandro and our lives will be enriched .
