Just came across this notice.(April 2015)
Odd, since I was thinking about her (and Hermann) while walking into work today.(hence the Google search)
And what a warm memory it recalled. She was just about the nicest ‘mom of a friend’ I have ever known. And that bread she made! Very sad to read this, but very good to have known her.

We are very sorry for the passing of Karen. She was a fine person and always so kind and loving. I loved her hugs. They were so special and I could always depend on getting one when I saw Karen. She had a wonderful positive spirit about her and I enjoyed that very much. She was a strong person who knew how to live in the moment. She leaves behind a wonderful family that I know will continue to love and support each other, just like Karen did. We are praying for all of you that you receive our Lord’s graces and strength to get through this very difficult time. Karen is at peace with the Lord now and will be watching over you from Heaven above.
    Love and prayers

Karen Schloo is a wonderful example of a caring, dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. Her genuine love and interest in extended family events and her commitment to supporting her grandson’s Hermann Peter and AJ to be their best, always inspired me to be present in others lives. Karen was a special presence in our lives and we will treasure the memories she helped create. Karen you will be dearly missed by all. May you be with your family and ours watching down to continue to inspire us to be there for each other.

Karen Schloo was a very special person.Although I only had the opportunity to meet her on a few occasions, each time was very memorable to me. She seemed very much a spirited woman ,full of insight, enthusiasm & keen intelligence. Her kindness towards me as a much younger woman on those brief encounters will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to her beloved husband, her treasured two sons & grandsons & all who loved her,at this sorrowful time.

Mother of Herman Peter and Alexander Schloo I will miss her dearly. Karen devoted her life as a caregiver to her family, friends, with a special connection and consideration to all animals that crossed her path. Her talents as a watercolor artist, a gourmet chef, clothe designer, gardener, hosting family celebrations fit for the queen at her table, caring for you in sickness and in health, supporting her children and grandchildren in education initiatives.Enjoying the north, nature, the Moon and the stars, and travels to Europe. You have taught me and my boys much to live by.We miss you and hope you are in a special place and will continue to watch over us with guidance. Lots of love, prayers and Condolences to Hermann Sr. Hermann Jr. and family.
