
(Anna) Frances Ronan, nee Mahoney
We remember and celebrate 95 years of the life of Anna Frances Ronan and announce her passing peacefully on July 7th, 2019 at Simcoe Manor Beeton Ontario. Frances had her family at her side and has joined, William (Bill), her husband of 63 years. Together Frances and Bill raised 7 children Paul, Hugh, Sheila, Marc, Rose Marie, Sean and Mary Catherine. Frances will be missed by, her children, their spouses, her 19 grandchildren and 13 soon to be 15 great grandchildren, the families of Paul (Dina), Hugh (Cathy), Sheila (Jerry), Marc (Sarah), Rose Marie (Hugh), Sean (Mary Jane) and Mary Catherine (Michael).
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Renee (Mark) Logan and Raine, Adrian (Pawel) Kaia, Scott, Rosemarie (Justin) Cierra, Ronan and Lincoln, Jeralee (Sean), Britton (Jen) Blakely, Mitchell (Sarah), Lauren and Maighan, Abigail and Olivia, Justin (Kristine) Fiona and Cullen, Seanesta, Ben and Jack, Jacob (Jessica) Liam and Caleb, Erik (Genna) Ryan, Tarah (Chris) Eve, and Sean who will miss that beautiful smile and always encouraging words.
Frances was the daughter of Eugene and Anna Mahoney of Campbellford Ontario near Peterborough. Frances was the second oldest of 6 sisters and 2 brothers, Sister Mary Catherine (deceased), Theresa (Cecil Heighes, deceased), Eugene deceased, (Barbara), Doreen deceased (Lewis Crowley) deceased, Rosemarie (Vince Doherty) deceased, Margaret (Gerald Clancy) deceased, Bernadette (Morris Lynch) deceased, and Paul (Kay). Frances is predeceased by her sisters in law Marie (Paul) Degrosbois, Rita (Ron Woods, Roland) Degrosbois and brothers in law Hugh (Mary Lou) and father Ex. Ronan. She will be lovingly remembered by her god children Bill Degrosbois, Kathleen Woods, Ken Lynch, Doug Ronan and many other nieces and nephews.
Frances left her hometown in Campbellford, went to teachers college and taught in Campbellford before moving to King City. It was there where she met her husband Bill and moved to Colgan where she taught and began her family. Frances was not only a passionate teacher but had a love for performance and dance. Frances served her community not only through teaching but as a talented specialty baker who supplied exceptional hand crafted sweet tables to special events, euchres and other community socials. Apart from these many talents Frances was most dedicated to her family and her faith. Frances was most happy when she saw her family growing up and succeeding in their lives.
Frances had many friends and always had a flair for the latest and most trendy fashions. Frances loved her Toronto Maple Leafs and the occasional visits to the farm by her favourite players Frank Mahovolich and Dick Duff. Frances relaxed to the music of Perry Como, Tommy Hunter, Marg Osborne, and always tapped her toes to the sounds coming from the Don Messers Jubilee show. When the chores were done and the children were taken care of Frances was known to step off a few reels of the highland fling.
Frances will be remembered for her beauty, loving personality and a zest for life that was contagious.
The celebration of Frances life will take place with visitation at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, Ontario on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 between 3-5 and 6-9pm.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Colgan, Ontario on Thursday July 11th at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in St. James Cemetery Colgan.
After the funeral service we would like to welcome everyone to a reception back at Rod Abrams Funeral Home for a light lunch, refreshments in celebration of the memories in honour of our Mom.
