    Dear Laura ,
My deepest condolences to you, your family and friends. I am so saddened to hear of Marks passing. He was one of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever known. Mark rented a second storey apartment from my husband Pete and I for many years and we could not have wished for a better tenant. Mark took care of the building and grounds as if they were his own. I remember when he asked if he could have a dog. Shortly afterwards, along came Beautiful Shadow. The two of them were inseparable and a huge blessing in our lives too. Many years later, Zoey arrived and we were just as excited. Mark was always thinking of others and when spring-time arrived I would walk into my salon very early in the morning , to find vases of gorgeous Lilacs or Peonies, or whatever was blooming at the time. Mark just loved to surprise and lift everyone’s spirits. Whenever I needed help Mark was always there for me, and when he and my husband Pete got together, we could always guarantee we were in for a few good laughs. It was an absolute Honor and Pleasure to have known you Mark. You are a very special man and will be greatly missed by all of us.

    To Baby Laura.
I sadly heard of Marks passing today.
I was privileged to work with Mark at Woodbridge Parks in his early years with Vaughan.
Our conversations always revolved around “ baby Laura”.
Mark was dedicated to his work and took pride in “ his parks”.
    He will be greatly missed.

Our sympathy to Mark’s family at the sudden and unexpected loss of a father, brother and grandfather. I first met Mark when he and “Shadow” were tenets at Ascot Manor. He was such a gentle man. Later in our lives we both ended up living on Woodbridge Ave and would frequently see each other when he was walking Zoe. Mark always had a smile and time for a short
conversation. We also kept our eyes on the great blue heron that liked to sun and fish along our path. He will be remembered for his gentle kindness to others and we will miss seeing him on the walkway.. With deepest sympathy, Patty and Scott Somerville

Deepest condolences to Mike, Marty family and all of Marks friends. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Mark as a teenager. We had a lot of fun attending school and not. Some great parties, poker games with the boys, and of course when we wanted to make the big bucks we went to the Wednesday night Bingo at the Woodbridge legion. Like everyone back in the day, we hung on down on Main Street, looking for action. We both loved Grand Funk Railroad. He loved that I played bass with a band called Mandrake with Roger Colton, Tom Kerr and Kenny Becket. Lol
    R.I.P. Mark

I was deeply saddened to hear of Marks’ passing. We were neighbours on Kipling Ave for a number of years. Mark was a kind soul and usually had a smile or caused one. He was older than us but always made sure everyone was alright. I remember he took me for a ride in his Chevy 2, I thought “how cool, out in Mark Irelands hot car”. Rest in Peace Mark, I’m so sorry you didn’t get to retire and have all the time you deserved with your family. Take care bro xoT

It was such an honor to have known Mark. I started my first day with Mark back in 1999 and worked with him for one full year and learned what he used to call “tricks”, sharing my lunch with him and truly he cared so much about the way the parks looked and put so much effort every day. I will never forget when he brought his scruffy big dog “Shadow” to work with him, and the dog sat in the middle between us. That something you don’t see everyday. But seeing him every day i missed being with him in parks dept as he joined roads about 11 years ago. To the family my deepest condolences and i will think of Mark always and he will be in a piece of all our hearts. Thank you to Mark for all the memories you will never be forgotten.

    R.I.P Mark

I’ve been working along side Mark for past 10 years. He was one of those guys always smiling and making jokes, a guy who loved his work, family and really loved his dog(s) I wish family and friends of Mark love and prayers. It was a sad day, that morning seeing cop cars in the plaza he lived, I stopped and walked over and didn’t wanna believe what a resident told me 🙁 it’s a day I’ll never forget.

    Sorry again

    Love joe

Dearest Laura, our family was so very saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing. Gone far too soon. He was so very proud of you and so happy to be a Grandfather, a true blessing. He was a very dear and loyal lifelong friend to my brother Richard and he is deeply grieving for him. He will forever miss the weekly Saturday visit with “Markie” who would always bring a coffee and just sit and talk with him. Sending love and prayers during this difficult time. May he rest in eternal peace.
