    Dear Muriel & Family,
We are so sorry to hear the sad news that David has passed away. Gerry and I send you our deepest condolences on your loss.
You and David were our first and immediate neighbours on Bowshelm Ct in Mississauga in 1974. We have so many good memories of David such as his gardening advice, his swimming pool project, his ready smile, and his willingness to help two “ newbies” with their first house.
May your many good memories of healthier happier times sustain you now during this difficult period.
    With fond memories,
    Colleen & Gerry Infeld,

I am so sorry to learn of David’s passing. As a member of the Newmarket Seneca gang I can say that it was a pleasure to work at the same campus as David. He inspired me to do and be better. He will be very much missed when our gang are able to meet again.

We’ll always remember how classy David and Muriel looked on the dance floor — stylish and elegant. And we enjoyed hearing stories of your various travels. The Newmarket dances just won’t be the same! Just recently Dave and Muriel made it possible for me to both attend our 50th college reunion as well as enabling me to visit my elderly aunt as well as close friends from where we used to live in Lennoxville Quebec! Wonderful to meet Dave and Muriel’s family as well! Our family has great memories of when we all got together! God be with you! Sincerely Jen and Al Edwards

    To Muriel and family

I feel great sadness at David’s passing and extend my sincere condolences to you and your children and grandchildren, let us add Peter and Linda as well. Our family enjoyed the hospitality of David’s parents, Dorothy and Milford many times making the Journey from Ontario to Newfoundland and back, heard all the family stories and exchanged notes on our kids. The last time I saw Milford in Margaree he had put on a colossal feed of boiled lobster for me. The generosity of spirit continued to the next generation as my family visited when David’s parents were there in Caledon in the early 1990s. And were greeted warmly other occasions,

Last summer it was a particular joy for Mr son Alan and granddaughter Kelsea who were in St John’s at the same time as David and Muriel and we spent a day with them Around the Bay, to the ancestral home in Carbonear, the cemetery where 3 generations of Camerons are Resting for eternity, and historical sites in the area. We shared a marvellous sea food dinner in Brigus and generally had a day that will not forgotten by anybody who was there.

David of course was my first cousin and we really had a strong bond though we didn’t meet often, but when when my mother was alive I got all the family news on a weekly basis about his career at Seneca, his marriage to Muriel, his children’s exploits and his community work.

We have lost an exceptionally fine human being and for sure I will miss him. I’m sure he las left all of the family with boatloads of happy memories which you will share with future generations, after all as the song goes—

We rise again in the faces of our children, we rise again in the voices of their song, We rise again like the waves out on the ocean, and then, we rise again.

My family joins me in extending love and sincere sympathy to all of you. I’m sure the kindness and joy he brought to the world will be a source of comfort.

We have been neighbours of David and Muriel for 16 years. With a trail around our property to walk our dog and bring their late horse Zippo carrots, we often ran into David working outdoors. We enjoyed our talks across the fence as he always had entertaining stories. When our dog passed away, David and Muriel left flowers from their garden and a lilac on our porch which meant so much. David will be sadly missed and always remembered.

Pancake Tuesday wasn’t the same this year without David’s precision and attention to detail — the same skills he brought to many areas of his life, including his precious zinnias. When we saw him shortly after his operation, he told us the cemetery plot was picked, the obit written, and then he went on to talk about recovery and asked how things were at St. James. A brave and selfless man who will be missed. You are in our prayers.
