Something I would have never expected to happen,… Sean was the nicest kid I think I have met after playing several years of minor hockey with him. He could always cheer you up weather it be with his jokes in the dressing room or his crazy strength that nobody could top. Sean was loved by many and nobody had a bad word to say about him. I offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Forever teammates. Rest in peace Sean.

    October 6, 2021 at 6:49 am

Sonia and family, I’ve been trying to find the words to express how sincerely sorry we are for the loss of your precious boy. I don’t think there are any words though. No parent should ever have to know this kind of pain. Your son was kind and accepting of everyone. Brady often talked about him in Elementary school and how he was so nice and kind to him all the time. Later in high school he would laugh and smile as he’d tell me about something funny “Iggy” said. Just two weeks ago he came home excited to tell me that he had talked to Sean today for the first time in a while and said “he’s such a great guy Mom. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.” Your son left a mark on this world in his short 17 years. His kindness meant so much. He will always be fondly remembered for the sweet boy that he was. RIP Sean ❤️

  27. Annalea, Rory and Aiden Ewing says

    October 5, 2021 at 11:01 pm

What do you say at a time like this? …Everyone who knew Sean knows he came from a loving family, a close family, a family that went camping together and raced around from hockey rink to hockey rink. This family had many good times and made many good friends and it shows right now because everyone that knows them wants to ease their pain and try to carry a little of their load. To share their burden.
Sean is up in Heaven right now looking down and he is so proud of the strength his family has mustered to get through this. He knows it’s the hardest thing they have ever had to do. He sees his friends rally around to support each other and to reminisce about the good times they had with Sean. The away tournaments staying in hotels and he is probably thinking l may not have had a long life here on earth…..but it was a good one!
The harder it is the greater the love!
May Sean give you strength Sonia, Shane, and all the family.

    Sonia and Shane,
Our hearts are broken for your loss. Aiden only played hockey with Sean for two years but he will always remember the great playoff run of 2018 because the team went crazy with superstitions and Sean, Aiden and Ben had to sit beside each other in the dressing room every game as they continued to win. Sean was a beautiful boy. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

We are struggling like everyone in our community and hockey family to come to terms with such a huge shock and loss. Sean you were always there for everyone. A lovely, quiet yet strong presence that everyone knew they could count on. Our Mike could always count on you. I heard your voice regularly when I came to say goodnight to him, “Iggy” would be on the phone talking, laughing and joking and the banter back and forth between you two would always make me smile. Mike was so excited to be back on the ice once again with you Sean. We know you are never truly gone as you will live on with the boys on the ice and in all of our hearts forever. Rest in peace young man. Til we meet again someday.

Dear Sean, It was so shocking to hear of your death at 17! You were such a sweet, kind, quiet young boy. I will remember you for loving Nana’s Pumpkin Spice cookies. I remember you & your sisters sitting at my kitchen table in Wiarton & they were all shouting for the “special” small fork with the hole in it, you set quietly so Nana gave it to YOU! I remember all you ducking your little faces into the chocolate cupcakes with the red frosting, and all the laughs we shared as you all tried to wash your faces to get the red dye cleaned off. I planted black tulips in your memory & red ones beside yours, so you & Sara remain buddies always. Condolences to all the Adams, Hartman & Bonia families at this unbelievable sad time . RIP

Sending love to all of you as you mourn the loss of your beloved Sean. Sean was a bright light in the home of my grandchildren for many years. He and Sara were constant companions of Sasha and Aidan while they were all growing up, and I never saw four children laugh so much together. I remember coming to the house when he and Aidan were making backyard action videos together using whatever tools and props they could find or make! Sean was always himself under any circumstances, always able to laugh at himself……we could all learn from him not to take ourselves too seriously.
