Our sincere condolences to Joe, Clare and all the family. A.Carmy was an old family friend from the Catholic Colony, and I remember many happy visits when she worked together with my mother, Molly, doing various good works for St Lawrence’s church. In Canada, unfortunately, we lost touch, living at other ends of the GTA, but the great smiles, the hugs and the warm welcomes were always there when we did meet, and will be an everlasting memory for me.
Rest in well deserved Peace, A. Carmy.

I find myself at a loss of what to say about this beautiful woman. She had so many wonderful qualities that I hardly know where to begin – a ready smile, wonderful laugh, so very thoughtful and ever so kind. No doubt Heaven is rejoicing at the return of this lovely soul and we remember how blessed we were to have been part of her life!

She was a much loved Aunt and I am a better person for having known her!

I hope knowing how much she is loved will comfort her family! I love you all!

Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your dear mother. I remember Carmy and also your dad Jos whom we met in 1963 when our family came to Canada. They were very welcoming to us and all new immigrants who first stayed in the apartments in Am Ma Bae. We had friendship and caring in abundance even though everyone started out with little financially. Those friendships are precious and lasting. Your mum was a very special lady – happy, big beautiful smile and made you feel very welcome. The last time I saw her was years ago in Ajax – Claudine and I visited her unexpectedly as we were in the area. It was a wonderful visit.
May Carmy Rest In Peace. May all your happy memories comfort you in your loss.

    love,
    Marilyn Pinto

Dear Joe, Clare, Christopher and family, Jamie and family and Joanne and family,

Our sincere condolences to you all on the passing of your dear sister/beautiful Mum. A. Carmy was a very special lady, who through her gentleness and caring for those around her, touched many a person in more ways than she could ever have realized. The few times that I met A. Carmy, it was her beautiful beaming smile and hearty laughter that always resonated with me. A. Carmy, I still remember the pretty pink booties you knitted for our daughter, Janice, some 40+ years ago!
May you rest in peace dear A. Carmy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. Love and God bless,

    Christine & Ian Domingo

Dear Jamie, Marilyn and Family; Joanne, Domenic and Family; Chris and Cindy and Family; Clare

Kevin and I send our deepest condolences. We are not back till Aug3 so we sadly will not be able to express our sympathies in person.

We both were very fond of A.Carmie. She had a winning personality and zest for life. We enjoyed attending Stratford with her when she came along with all of us and visiting with you all in Ajax and Orleans. She was a people person and the world needs more A. Carmie’s.

We hope these next days pass smoothly, and you and your families find peace in her passing.

Aunty Carmy, who I took on as an aunt, after all my aunts were gone, was a delightful person. We shared memories of her childhood when, as a six-year old, she visited Ruby Villa, my grandparents’ house with Yolande Vas for the first time.
We shared a few lunches together and there was always laughter and a sense of fun in life.
I’ll miss you, Aunty Carmy and I’ll always remember your laugh and your smiling reminiscences.

Aunty Carmy became my aunt after I had lost all my other aunts.
And what an aunt she was to me! That wonderful laugh of hers,
the memories she shared with me of being six years old and
visiting Ruby Villa with Yolande Vas for the first time, and the
lunches we shared together when she lived in Shaumberg.
    A laugh a minute!
Thanks for being my aunt. I’ll never forget your smile and
    your happy disposition.

I shall always remember Carmie for her cheerful disposition. She was genuinely interested in your wellbeing and, after chatting and exchanging family news for a good hour, she’d end her call by saying, “That was a good visit. Let’s do it again soon.” May Carmie have eternal peace with Our Lord.
Sharon and I extend our condolences to the family.

Dear Clare, dear Christopher and family, dear Jamie and family and dear Joanne and family, your children and your loved ones, Cindy, Marilyn and Dominic. Our sympathies are also with Joseph, Carmie’s brother.

We were saddened by the passing of Carmie and will miss her very much. Our prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time. Both of us know the feeling of profound loss at the death of a beloved parent, but we also realize that Carmie’s long and rich life will leave you with many wonderful memories of the joint experiences over her lifetime as the centre of your family. Without a doubt all of you have been loving and caring children and we are sure that she recognized that.

In the last few days we have reminisced on our personal memories. For Xavier, they go back to his childhood in Karachi, the many happy family occasions at the KGA gathering centre for Goan families, the celebrations at St. Lawrence Parish Church, the picnics on Clifton Beach, her and Jos’ wedding celebration, and the many other joint extended family events. For Brigitta, Carmie’s wholehearted warm welcome into the extended Fernandez clan stand out, her hospitality at all the Christmas times in Montreal, and meeting her sisters, Veona, Rita and Chrissy while we were visiting in Karachi. In later years, besides less frequent visits, when she always made us especially welcome, we stayed regularly in touch by phone. She was always interested in our family news.

We will miss her. She was our rock to obtain the history of our family whether it be in Karachi or Goa. It was always “ASK CARMIE”.

What a gift it was that we could still see Carmie and chat with her via zoom in her decline! We will keep her in our prayers and in our memory.

Our love to all of you,

    Xavier & Brigitta .
