Phil, as his wonderful wife Carol, is one of those people you are grateful to spend time with, a privilege. So many times I’ve said ‘can we go and visit with Phil and Carol soon’.
He will be truly missed but his impact and memories surely will live on with those who were fortunate to have known him. Very sincere condolences to Carol and his family.

Dear Phil, It’s hard to believe that you’ve left us. I can’t stop singing that old song that goes, “I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain. I’ve seen stormy days that I thought would never end. But I always thought I’d see you again.” And then I burst into tears. How many times have you offered to pay my air fare from here on the West coast, but I was too proud to let you do it. I wanted to wait until I could pay my own way. And now, it’s too late, at least for this lifetime. I so enjoyed laughing and listening to your old jokes, and sharing a few drinks with you. Well, maybe one or two, since I’d probably fall asleep before I could get drunk. I had my suitcase packed, in June, and then you went back into hospital. It seemed so unreal. I wanted to give you heck for jumping the line – butting in. You’re the baby so I should have gone before you. You will know that I love you very much, and look forward to getting together with you on the other side.

immediately when we became neighbours, Phil was part of our family’s life. He helped building of our home, embraced our boys, and our dogs. He involved himself in our lives in such a positive way, from getting the boys to help him with firewood, fixing up old trucks to taking the time with me sitting on the golf carts out back talking about life and offering business advice. We will dealy miss you.
    Thanks for being you, Dickis

I got to know Phil many years ago. He was the kind of man everyone liked, and not one with many enemies. He was a general contractor all his life and loved the trade. He looked for challenges, something different which he could apply his skills at. He loved his cars and spent many days, months and years working on them to attain the best he could. His family was always number 1 for him. He could often be heard to recite his outlook on life, “Born, Live, Die”. To that end the last 4 years I have had to watch him reach his last goal. I find it sad to have had to watch this, but I guess that is life. He enjoyed his time on earth. Phil was my friend. May he rest in peace.
