Cliff “CJ” Peddle

In Memorial

Peddle CJ2

Peddle: Cliff Jason “CJ”,
CJ Peddle passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2022, in his 41st year. He was an amazing man, friend, son, brother, and above all the best husband. He loved his dogs, his boat, his Durango and he loved to fish. He is survived by his wife Cassy Golden-Peddle, his mother Christine Peddle, his father David Laver, his sisters Natasha Irving-Neel (Eric), Maxine Magee (John), and brother Dustin Little. He will be missed by his extended family and many friends. Taken too soon from all of us, but he will never be forgotten.

“I once had something special
that money couldn’t buy,
I had a special person,
but had to say goodbye.
If I were asked one question,
why I thought the world of you,
I could give a million answers,
and they would all be true.
The heartache and the sadness
may not always show.
People say it lessens,
but little do they know.
Meet me in my dreams,
and talk to me once more,
and ease this everlasting pain,
that makes my heart so sore.
The road without you is so long,
a tear for every mile.
But I know one day when I reach the end,
you’ll be waiting for me with a smile.”

Oh, Christine, I am so sorry for the loss of CJ. I met him again about four years ago, and had a good yak with him. He seemed to be doing so well. I frequently walk dogs passed his home and often hoped that I would bump into him again. Take care. My thoughts are with you.

It always comes too fast, and it always hits too hard. No matter how ready you think you are for whatever life is going to throw at you, no one is every ready for this. And the sun takes no prisoners; as is its nature. We meander around living our lives from one day to the next. Building a foundation, and then the walls come up brick by brick, we plant a garden around us the grows and flourishes. We take care of it and it becomes a home.

And then, without any warning sometimes, it all comes crashing down. The garden becomes wild, the walls crumble, and something so important to us falls to ruins. But there is more to it; because though it might not be a home anymore… the roots continue to grow. The walls become rich with vines and teaming with life. All of the memories that lived in that home are still there and very much alive. And when the sun shines through the trees and illuminates the world around that home it becomes magical, and stronger then ever. Because it’s held together by so much life.

This is not the end of the story. The magic will never fade, as long as we keep it alive and let it grow wild inside all of us. And every time we share a memory, another seed falls to the soil, and the garden will never die.

I love you Cassy, and to all of C.J’s family, my deepest condolences. There are not enough words in the English language to truly express how hard this is, and how unfair it seems. But always remember, you are all now appointed to a new job. You’re gardeners. And you’ll all do wonderfully in keeping that garden very much alive. Let it grow wild and untamed, like C.J. lived every second of his life.
