Some men are considered great by the measure of wealth, strength or intelligence. Uncle Allan was great by measure of heart.
A very loving man that touched many lives. Giving his love and support to all.
Uncle Allan was a hard working man, even had to retire more than once. With his new found time, he unselfishly gave it to those in need, including the vision impaired, kidney foundation and driving patients to Southlake Regional Hospital.
I always seen Uncle Allan as my hero but truthfully he was a hero to many, and will be sadly missed by all that were blessed to be in his life.
I treasure his stories, jokes, and laughter, but most of all, I treasure the love he gave.
    With Love, Christine.

    Poppa,
you were and still are the greatest, most influential man I will ever know. All you need to know is that you were loved by so many people and you have touched so many lives and it shows. I love when I meet new people to this day and it eventually comes out that they knew you and all I hear is heart warming memories that they have of you. You may have been taken away from us but know that you will never be forgotten and nanny will always be taken care of. Love you forever!

My grandfather played a big part in my life and when he passed away a piece of me died too. I put my feelings into a poem. It helped me relax and overcome my sadness, although I am still sad it helped me alot and I hope it will help you too.

Tears streamed down my pace when I saw that way
I love you papa, I will love you always
As my tears run down my face
I knew you were in a happier place
My love will follow you wherever you go
Oh how I loved you so
Although I feel sorrow and hate
    You can’t fight fate
You told me everything astime passed by and by
I never wanted you to die
We been through alot together throughout the years
It’s time to wipe away the tears
    I want you to know
I will never let you go
My heart will always be with you
Now it’s time to say good-bye
until I see you again someday when I die.

    I love you papa xoxoxo

Our sincere sympathy on Al’s passing. He was the definition of a true gentleman. I have many happy memories of him at the Beeton Legion watching him play snooker or just sitting chatting. Al was always a pleasure to be around!

Sincere condolences Shirley to you and your family. Allan was always a joy to have around and the Rich Hill United Church people enjoyed his company so much. He always had a smile on his face and a cheery message to give. We will miss him!

Allan, you were what a ‘real man’ was. You loved too much, you gave of yourself and your time selflessly. Your family was everything to you and the dis-advantaged stole your heart. In life, Allan was born 30 years prior to me but on the same day, June 8th. Shirley, you were the biggest part of his heart and nothing will ever change what you two shared. May God be with you all at this time.

My brother Allan is a person that I would want to be. He was thoughtful, generous, sense of humor even though at times, corny. But was loved by many. Never said anything negative about a person. Loved his wife, Shirley dearly. If I could’ve chosen a brother, he would’ve been the one.
    Love you forever,
    Joy
