Dear Christena, Suzanne, Carolyn, Bill and Linda
My sincere condolences to you Christena and family.
Wow! what a man. What a great loving family.
You see Bill and I did so many project together for this great couple near Erin, Ontario.
In 2003 at St Mary’s church Bill ask if I could help him for a few weeks at the estate. Well the few weeks lasted 9 years. We became good friends and work so well together. During that time we join the Young at Heart singers in Erin, sometime practising our songs on way to the estate for that weekly Monday morning practise. I have so many fond memories spending time at family events and celebrations.
My heart goes out to you Christena and your whole family.
Rest in peace my good friend.

    Dear Christena and Family,
Dave and I send our deepest condolences and are so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing.
It was a deep privilege getting to know Bill and Christena through our time spent with the Upper Canada Chordsmen. He brought such joy to every rehearsal, show and gathering. His ever present smile and twinkling eyes let you know that lots fun was in the house!
Laughter and a song went hand in hand with the Jonkmans at The Lunch Bunch Table . Thank you for all of these many treasured memories.
God bless all of you as you move through this difficult time.

I MET BILL AT SCOTTS IN 2012 AND WORKED WITH HIM UNTIL HE RETIRED. IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO WORK WITH HIM. AT THE END OF A HARD DAY I LOOKED FORWARD TO BEING BACK FOR THE NEXT DAY TO WORK WITH BILL. HE WAS DEFINATELY A PEOPLE PERSON. LIFE IS A SERIES OF APPOINTSMENTS, DAILY, WEEKLY, MONTHLY, YEARLY ETC. WE TRY HARD TO GET TO ALL THESE VARIOUS APPOINTMENTS WITH EXCEPTION OF OUR LAST APPOINTMENT THE ONE WE DON’T WANT TO REACH. WE DON’T KNOW WHEN WHERE OR HOW BUT WE DON’T WANT TO BE AT THAT FINAL APPOINTMENT, BUT WE DON’T HAVE A CHOICE. I THINK IT IS TRUE THAT BILL MET HIS LAST APPOINTMENT AWAY TOO SOON. HE HAD ALOT MORE LIFE TO LIVE AND WE ALL WILL MISS HIM. ..GOD BLESS

This is such sad news. John and I came to know Bill and Christina many years ago when we moved here. Bill was a talented carpenter and craftsman and gave us the legacy of a beautiful home filled with many creative elements which he designed and made himself. His skills were many and they spilled over to the outside in your beautiful gardens. He enjoyed watching things grow and the flowers and gardens were always evolving and beautiful. Most of all he was so proud of his family and Christina was always the love of his life. They stood by each other and were a team through thick and thin. He will always be treasured and remembered by his family and friends for the kind man that he was. We extend our sympathy and sorrow to all who are part of your lives at this very sad time.

Dear Mrs. Jonkman, Suzanne, Carolyn, Bill and Lynda,
I was so saddened to hear of Bill’s passing so quickly. I always liked your dad; he always would say a little teasing joke to me when I saw him at church or elsewhere. My Dad and your Dad became very good friends over the years through singing in the choir at St. Mary’s in Achill and working together at the Erin house. He introduced dad to the Young at Heart singers in Erin which dad is so very much involved with to this day and they both always had side projects or maintenance jobs around the house – often helping each other out. Both, hands on kind of guys with a passion for singing! Please accept my sincerest sympathies for your loss. May your faith, encourage, guide and hold you during this difficult time. Much Love and Hugs, Jodie Guillemette, Tom and family

Bill was such a hard working, talented man. He always had a smile on his face, and a twinkle in his eye as he waited to let his humour shine through. His stint at St. Andrew, in the shop class, was the best ever experience for the students and real treat for the staff.
You worked side by side to raise four amazing children, and created a home and property that is second to none.
    RIP Bill.
    God Bless.

I could have never asked for a better friend. I admired Bill for his building, gardening and all outdoor skills. He had a great sense of humour and was always fun to be with. I will miss having him as my bid euchre partner. My late wife, Diane, and I along with Christena and Bill made two cruises to the Caribbean. The cruises that I will never forget.
Christena, you were such a gift to Bill as you cared for him living out you marriage vows to the end. He loved you so much. My heart goes out to you and your children, grandchildren and whole family as you grieve and learn to live without Bill beside you on earth. Bill’s spirit is alive in Heaven and will be with us forever.
Rest in Peace my good friend.
