    Isla and Ian,

Sorry to read the news about cousin Bruce here we had been out of contact for too long. A few happy memories remain both back home and in Renfrew as well as one or two from Canada. Staying with you both and Gran speaking of coming back from her own trip to Canada in shock at being asked to meet the ‘chef’ only to discover he was family. Sorry that moving countries and lost addresses meant we didn’t keep in touch more I enjoyed the few occasions when we did manage to get together and catch up.

    To the McGirr Family:
I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce at Eaton Hall when I was young. For my next fifteen years working with him, Bruce was my friend. A very caring and supportive man. Always a pleasure to be around. He has left a lasting impression on me. I have always missed him and wondered about him. It is so sad to have lost such a great man at a young age. I will always have fond memories of Bruce. My sincerest condolences to Bruce’s family.

A man of many talents and a caring nature. Lots of laughter always came from any kitchen Bruce was in. Eaton Hall, morning coffee & a joke were an everyday thing

To the McGirr family. How sad it was to hear of Bruces passing.I worked with Bruce on and off at Eaton Hall and enjoyed the time with Bruce in the kitchen. He was a good chef but especially a good man. Respectful, supportive but most of all, a great sense of humor. I still tell some of his jokes and stories and he will be missed. My families thoughts are with your family at this time. God Bless you all and Bruce is already feeding angels, I’m sure. The Morier family

Isla and family, We are sorry to hear of Bruce’s death. I enjoyed his conversations at the store and his passion for food. His soft voice and accent was a pacifier in a hectic world. His passing will bring him whole again and we know that the menu in heaven just got a whole lot better.

There are no words that can express the sadness I feel for all of you at the passing of Bruce.
Memories of the dinners at the Tottenham Legion and Erik teasing Bruce at least brings a smile of fond memories of happier days.

May your treasured memories comfort all of you now and in the coming days.

The loss of a loved one so young is always tragic. We hold dear to those memories that made Bruce so special. His encouragement and example helped mold my son Jason into the Chef he is today. We shared so many fond memories as drummers. Our hearts and prayers are with you all.
