Chad McGoey

McGoey Chad

McGoey: Chad Edward,

Chad passed away suddenly at his home in Alliston, Ontario on Friday May 16, 2025.   Chad was 34 years, beloved son of Tod and Donna McGoey.  Loving brother of Mitch McGoey and his wife Susannah Vander Zaag, and a loving uncle.  Cherished grandson of Marie and Stan Jones, and the late Tom and Marj McGoey.   Forever in the hearts of his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, and neighbours.  Sadly missed by his buddy Inis.

Chad graduated from Sir Wilfred Laurier with an Honors Degree in Business and Economics.  He then joined the family business becoming the 5th generation to work at McGoey Insurance.  Chad was an avid reader.  He enjoyed football, baseball, squash, and tennis, and spending time with family and friends.  Chad was known for his quick wit and cheeky demeanor.  He loved meeting new people and made lasting connections.  To know him was to love him.  We would like to celebrate his life, not mourn his death.

The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Sunday May 25, 2025 from 1-4pm and 6-8pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Church Colgan 2118 Adjala Tecumseth Townline Tottenham on Monday May 26, 2025 at 11am. Cremation will follow.  After the funeral mass, a reception celebrating Chad’s life will take place at the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall.

Donations in Chad’s Honor may be made to Epilepsy Canada, Headwaters MRI Fund SMART Campaign, or the charity of your choosing.  Condolences and memorials may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

Chad was more than just a high school classmate – he became a university friend at Laurier, where we reconnected and shared many laughs. Having a kind and familiar face by my side made those early university days so much easier. Though we lost touch after graduation, I’m grateful for the memories we made. His passing leaves a void in the lives of many, and he’ll be deeply missed.
Another good one called home to be with the lord way too early!

I spent some time thinking about what to say.

Chad was a wonderful kind man

Donna , Tod you did a great job raising Chad. Chad was loved and respected which is a testament to how he was raised. He will always be remembered not just by us but by all who knew him.

Take comfort in the knowledge that he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Ya did a great job. He’ll be remembered and missed by more than you’ll ever know.

We’ll get together to celebrate his life and all those he affected

We love you all. But mostly we loved your son. Chad

I’ve been thinking a lot about Chad since I heard the news of his passing. I really enjoyed our years together in high school—he was one of my closest friends. We spent a lot of early mornings together running before school for cross country and track. He brought such a good energy, even at 7 a.m. We had a lot of the same classes, and he always took the time to help me when I was struggling. He had a great way of explaining things—light-hearted and easy to understand. I’m so sorry for your loss. Chad’s the best.

He was uncle Chad and guy who would always stop play with them and to make sure they were happy. To my wife and I, he was a very trusted and caring friend who always began a conversation with. How are the kids? That’s the type of guy you was. I’m so sorry for your loss and it is truly a loss. He was one of a kind, truly a loyal and loving soul. He battled back from so many obstacles and was taken far too soon. I’ll end this, how we ended every conversation, ” Love you buddy!”
