I used to coach Chris at skating lessons on Monday mornings in Tottenham. It was always fun and even years later I would run into him anywhere and be greeted with the same smile and a Hi Coach. I’ll miss our cheerful run ins around town, and am so sorry for your loss.

Very saddened to hear of Christian’s passing so suddenly. Having read so many Condolences on Christian’s very special effect on all who knew him brought back a memory of Christian as a young fella. My sister Laurene and husband Clare had brought a new car at the dealership. As they offered little compensation on a trade-in their vehicle was offered to Tom and I. When we saw Christian later at his Grandparents he wanted to know why we were driving his Grandpas car. He was very clever at distinguishing different vehicles and wanted an explanation. This has always been a cherished memory of Christian.

Very sad to hear about the passing of Chris. Mike and I had the priviledge of knowing Chris when he was our neighbour on Brown St, worked at IGA and eventually Foodland. What an amazing person he was. Chris always acknowledged you and asked how you where. He was very loving and will be missed by everyone in “his town..Tottenham”

    To Chris’s family:
I was very sorry and surprised to hear from an old teaching colleague from Tottenham Public School with the sad news of Christian’s passing. I have watched from the “side-lines” Christians’ growth in the community, from bicycling (and not getting hit by a car) to working at Foodland. These things he did with great pride and to the best of his ability. With support from a caring and loving family and community I feel that Chris grew to the kind young man that we will all miss. Remember him with love and a smile.

I’m so sorry for your loss of Chris. My first memory of him was when I was walking with my young son (now 42) up the main street as Chris came towards us riding his bike behind someone with young children. I was amazed that he could ride that slow and not fall off. Seeing Chris riding his bike through the years always put a smile on my face because he was free to enjoy an activity that I wished I’d had more time for. When I started working at Tim Hortons he would greet me whenever he would see me to check if I was, “working today?” If I said no, he would look so disappointed like he felt sorry for me. I’ve been retired a few years now so didn’t get the news that Chris was even sick till today. It was a shock. He was so young. He really was a big part of our community and will be remembered fondly.

So many wonderful memories of seeing Chris at Foodland or cruising around town on his bike.

When the seasons changed, I always looked forward to his friendly reminders about switching our tires. He even noticed when someone in my family hadn’t changed theirs and would ask me to pass the message along.

A day was instantly brighten when Chris crossed my path.

He touched so many lives, and I truly believe his legacy will live on in our community each time someone takes a moment to smile, say hello, or strike up a conversation with a neighbour—or even a stranger at the grocery store.

The large amount of sadness this has brought to me is not surprising as Chris is a family name. He used to visit “Big Al” at the pharmacy and would stand beside me while stocking shelves or tagging items. He was never mean, and when he got bored he’d just move on. He will always be a sunny memory for me, as he was a common thread of my youth biking around town, showing up at the grocery store and other places around town. When I moved back and saw him at Foodland, I thought how lucky it was for the high schoolers to have his company as I did. I will miss him.
