We were so terribly shocked and devastated to learn of Colleen’s sudden passing. She was always so kind and welcoming to us. It was a unique pleasure to get to know her over the years. We may have only met a handful of times, but it was always a joy to be in her warm and loving presence whenever we did. We so looked forward to getting to eat eggs or chickens from her farm, which she gifted us and those around us with a generosity of spirit that came naturally to her. We will miss her dearly, but are heartened that her warmth and vivaciousness live on in her wonderful children and grandchildren. We are thinking of them and of others who loved and lost Colleen and sending them love and strength.

Aunty Colleen. The excitement of getting on the plane as a child to go and see you all. It would always be your home, you would have the cottage ready for us, beautiful roast dinners, breakfast laid out every morning (I’ll always remember the Flintstone vitamins) the gentle hugs and rubs and telling us how beautiful and special we were. Such beautiful core memories filled with warmth and love. That’s what you passed on and thank you for everything you did for all of us. Dear Stacey, Cherie, Rory and your beautiful children, you are all a testament to that love. And I know Aunty Colleen will forever be your guardian angel. Rest in Peace Beautiful Aunty Colleen

Sending our deepest sympathies and condolences to the entire family. It was our great pleasure to get to know Colleen over the years we have been lucky enough to know Cherie (and Stacey! and Rory!). She was such a warm and welcoming presence in every room she was in. Her love for her kids (and grandchildren) was palpable and it was so wonderful to see how happy she was at Cherie and David’s wedding. Colleen was certainly a dynamo – always in motion, when we saw her – and we can see where Cherie, Stacey and Rory get their strong work ethic and sense of humour from. Colleen will be sorely missed – lots of love to the whole family at this very difficult time.
