Connie Louise Vigneault

In Memorial

VIGNEAULT, ConnieOn the morning of August 29th, Connie Louise Vigneault (January 8th 1949 – August 29th, 2023), after a long and courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Matthew’s Place Hospice. Connie was a fighter and was a true example of resilience and perseverance. In her 74th year, she is reunited with her husband Gilles and all her loved ones in heaven.
Connie was born January 8th,1949 to her late parents Nicholas Venditello and Hilda Carter and her step mother who raised her, the late Isabella Venditello. She lived in Toronto until she met the love of her life, the late Gilles Vigneault and they moved their family to a small farming community in Tottenham Ontario in 1975. Connie was known for her infectious laugh, kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need. She loved to dance and sing to the oldies with her friends and she loved animals. Connie was also known for her cooking. Her kitchen was always filled with neighbors, friends and family and her children’s friends. No one ever went hungry. Recently, she found joy creating a “Cookin with Con’s” show that her daughter Lianne would post on Facebook. Everyone loved Connie’s zest for life, fun loving spirit and yes her food. Even though Connie’s Kitchen here on earth is closed, her culinary legacy will live on!
The world lost a beloved mother, friend, sister, sister in-law and Nana.
Connie will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and many friends. She will be dearly missed by her children, Paul (Michelle) Vigneault, Michelle (Michael) Vigneault-LeBlanc , and Lianne (James) Vigneault-Graymar and her beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Matthew, Miya, Carter, Angelina and Gillian. She also leaves behind her siblings, Donna Smith (Woodstock Ontario), Jo Ann Gommeringer ( Edmonton Ontario) Sharon Carter ( New York), Nicholas (Nancy) Venditello ( Innisfil Ontario), Tony (Carrie) Venditello (Grimsby Ontario)), and Angelo (Tracey) Venditello (Mississauga Ontario).
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Connie’s name to Matthew’s House Hospice in Alliston Ontario. We want to send a special thank you to the wonderful friends and family who spent time with Connie during her battle. She appreciated it so much! We also want to thank the Good Samaritan in Alliston, Ontario and Matthew’s House Hospice in Alliston, for the love and compassion they showed our mother. Condolences or memories of Connie may be left for the family at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.

My Big Sister Connie was an amazing lady!

Connie was kind, loving and caring to all of those she came in contact with…family, neighbours, friends and even stray animals… She was easy to love!

I loved to hear her tell stories of her childhood living on the family farm and the fun they all had together growing up. I also have fond memories of Connie and Mom working their magic in the kitchen for Sunday, and all the holiday dinners. No one left the table hungry.

Connie is now reunited with her husband Gilly, Dad & Mom. I believe making friends with all those she meets and inviting them into Connie’s Kitchen for an excellent meal.

Until we meet again…Love, your baby brother!

Connie was without a doubt a blessing in the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her. She was incredibly strong throughout her long battles with cancer while never losing her wonderful sense of humour nor her capacity to love deeply and unconditionally. I never heard her complain or speak ill of anyone. She loved with her whole heart and treated everyone like family. Sending my sincerest condolences to her family and friends especially her three children that she loved and adored. One of my fondest memories is watching Connie dance with the love of her life, her sweet husband Gilles in their dining room on their anniversary. I hope you two are dancing together again in Heaven. Angelo and I will miss our visits with you Connie but treasure those memories forever. Rest in peace sweet girl until we meet again.

We will always remember Connie….now and forever. Connie loved cooking and her meals were special to everyone. And yes, she loved to party. On the dance floor, she showed her skills and had plenty of moves. Connie was everyone’s friend and helped solve many problems in her day. She was a beautiful, talented, perfect sister-in-law. She will always be in our hearts and we will miss her everyday. ❤️

This is a tough one for me. Connie is someone that I’ve known as long as I’ve been alive, being my mother’s best friend and “rock” before I was even thought of.
I’m comforted by remembering Connie as caring, loving, a lifelong solid friend to my mother, one heck of a cook, and a fighter. This fight is over now, and she’ll be missed by all that knew her. May she now be at peace.

Our deepest condolences are offered to all of Connie’s family, and close friends.

Our sincere condolences to Paul, Michelle and Lianne and their families. For almost 50 years our families have been intertwined in some manner. While I knew Connie and Gill most of my life I am most grateful for the loving care Connie gave to my girls. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to babysit for me. Connie was always kind and patient and of course they were always fed well. Godspeed Connie. Our family will never forget you. Tell Gill the “monsters” say Hi!

Lianne, Michell and Paul, we are so sorry for your loss. Your mom was the best. A beloved neighbour as shown by the fabulous going away get together put on by the neighbours when she moved away from her house! She was surely overwhelmed by the attendance and what fun she had. You will miss her terribly but know she was so incredibly proud of you all. God bless you and your families at this sad time.
