Dave you will be sadly missed. You added a great deal of joy to the Friday Night Legion jams because you always played with zeal and passion. Too bad I never knew you had a love of aircraft. I do too. Up there you are free. Now my heart is heavy because you left us. Yet my heart is smiling and joyful because we pickers had you among us. You’re in our memories. Soar on upward,. Safe home, pilgrim!

Dear Ida, Justin and Alexandra, my deepest condolences to you and your extended family. Loss, sudden loss is never easy, can never be understood or rationalized. I hope that you are surrounded by family and friends to get you thru this most difficult time in your lives. I had the pleasure of working with Dave for years and always admired his skill, his personality and his powerful presence when it came to his work.
I have 3 children and lost my Wife in a Car accident in April of 2014, you don’t know me but I can tell you I have travelled down this road that you are embarking on and I have learned some things 1st hand. Should you need to scream, rationalize or try to understand the “What Now” questions, I am a great listener and know the pain you are feeling all too well. So sorry for your loss and for the pain you now must carry. Sincerely Kai Wisch & Kids (At Toromont Concord)

To Dave’s family, his closest loved ones, and everyone in his circle of family & friends. I’m so sorry for your loss. I knew Dave through the video store, and a joint love of cars. I only recently found out of our connection with BDHS. We could have shared a few conversations about mutual friends from school. Dave had such a warm, welcoming presence. His kindness and friendly demeanour are things that stand out when I think of him. Please accept our condolences, from the staff at VideoQuest, as well as from a personal level. You never know how far Dave’s reach is, but he’s made an impression on everyone in his life. He will be missed.

Dear Ida and family, please except my deepest condolences for your loss. David and I went to elementary and high school together. You should be very proud. He was one of the nicest, kindest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. His smile and those blue eyes always sparkled. Taken away too soon. The last time I ran into him was at video quest and we reminisced , it’s was great. Those blue eyes still sparkled and he was the same Dave that I knew. He will be sadly missed.

I knew Dave through work and was always touched by what a great sense of humour he had, coupled with being a gentleman. He has many people who will miss him, in particular, those that came to Reman after relocating their families from other countries and he personally helped them get set up in their local areas.
My deepest condolences to you and the kids as you navigate these difficult times. Hopefully knowing how highly everyone thought of Dave will help ease the pain just slightly.

Our friendship started in math class at Bradford District High School. The joking around started with Dave, Joe Silvieria, Morgan Walker, and a few others. I learnt fast that my Dad, Dave Craig had all these jokesters in his class of Machine shop. My father was a teacher at BDHS. Well here starts some good friendships. I could write a book on the last 30 years, and last time I saw Dave was 6 years ago in the parking lot of upper Canada Mall. Dave and Ida always smiled and loved life. Loved each other emencly. They loved people. My heart goes out to all family and friends as Dave will be greatly missed.
Dave, see you when its my turn and we will enjoy a few beers my friend.

    Dear Ida, Ali & Justin,
Dave was a true friend, a wonderful husband, proud father, talented musician, and he was one of the most kind, generous and good-hearted person that I have ever met. I will always treasure the good times that I had playing music with Dave in the band, at jams, and with our own little duet. I am really going to miss this, and will always think of him every time I hear one of his favourite tunes. Dave’s legacy will live on in everyone with all of the wonderful memories, interesting stories and songs that he entertained us with. My thoughts and prayers are with you in the days ahead as you go through this difficult time. Find strength in remembering the good times you had, and all the great memories that he gave all of you. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know David but I am a 1st cousin to his mother Ann, which makes David a first cousin once removed. I will be remembering all of you in my prayers. As I live in Kingston I am not able to attend the funeral. Just so you know the connection Ann’s father and my mother were brother and sister (Mary Crook).
