Sending our deepest condolences to all of you today. We are saddened we could not attend Joan’s celebration of life. Indeed she had a life well lived! We got to know Joan through Shelley and her beautiful family and soon our boys also called her “Nana Burt” and didn’t realize until they were older she wasn’t really their Nana by blood. She was a funny, sassy, quick witted, beautiful soul!
She had a crush on Doug and always told me he was her “hunk”, so much so that at her big birthday at the Manor a few years back she reported “I am going to show Doug my apartment and if we don’t come back don’t come a knocking!”
Joan you earned your wings and then some. Beeton will miss your incredible passion and laughter! You always had a huge smile every time we met up.
You are so loved and will be missed by us all!

My deepest sympathy to all of Joan’s family. I met Joan shortly after moving to Beeton at a Horticultural meeting 25 years ago
She was kind and welcoming but it was her wit and sassy comments that made you instantly love her. We continued to have a friendly banter back and forth from that day forward for many years, even during her time at Simcoe Manor. Her smile will truly be missed by many
