Fred Michael Salmon
September 15th 1943 – July 25th 2018
Fred Michael Salmon passed peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Peterborough on Wednesday July 25th, 2018.
Fred Salmon formerly of Beeton, in his 75th year, was a devoted husband to Margaret (Ford). Loving father to Angela and Lindsay (Anthony Fornito), he will be greatly missed by his granddaughter Morgan and grandson Chase. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings late Denis Salmon (Jeanette), Gloria Robinson (Dennis), Sylvia Frank (late Arnold), Maureen Henderson (Donald), Charmaine Pette (Steve) and all his nieces and nephews.
Fred was born in Chorley, Lancashire England. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1957 when Fred was 14. He was a lover of many sports including, soccer, boxing & hockey. Throughout Fred’s life there were many challenges that required hard work, stubbornness and a love for life to prevail.
After many years as a transport truck driver, community involvement and spending so many hours at the Beeton Arena to watch hockey, Fred and Margaret moved to the Peterborough area when Fred retired to watch more hockey at the Lakefield arena.
Fred had a spirit and quick wit that has carried on to his grandchildren Morgan and Chase. His love for his family was undeniable but his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He had a special relationship with both of them. Morgan was his girl. They were connected right from the heart. Chase was his best buddy who he could talk hockey and mentor to be a good man.
Through the years Fred has touched so many people and been a part of many stories to remember.
A Celebration of Life will take place on August 18th, 2018 between 1pm – 4pm at Kate Aitken Agricultural Hall (formerly Rotary Hall), 72 Second St N, Beeton. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham. wwwRodAbramsFuneralHome.com

Marg, Angela, Lindsay, Morgan & Chase,
Please accept our condolences on behalf of The Kearney Family during this difficult time.
Fred was a real character loved to have fun & laughs with people. Fred also would give you the shirt off his back. Fred did not like to see anyone stuck in a difficult situation & would do his best to help or support. Fred loved his community & friends but most of all adored his family. Fred is going to be missed dearly & that’s a sign of a great man & a well lived life.
During this difficult time please remember that we are praying for you all & that the healing process is as gentle as it can be.
