Jerry was born in Toronto Ontario and spent his youth in Los Angeles,California. Throughout his life, his family enjoyed many stories about his years at Hollywood High and his encounters with the stars. It was perhaps this period in his life that laid the foundation for his deep loveand appreciation for film and music.
Jerry met Penney when he returned to Toronto in the early 1960’s and they married in 1965. Soon thereafter, daughters Lisa and Angie were born. In the small town of Tottenham, Jerry was an active community member; coaching and refereeing local hockey teams. Jerry spent most of his working life as a salesman. If they made it, Jerry could sell it. After a life of sales, Jerry and Penney spent several years as the proprietors of Rosie’s Restaurant in Tottenham. Behind the bar, Jerry was a little like the town Godfather; dishing out advice, support and sports stats on a nightly basis.
Jerry spent the latter years of his life in London, Ontario. In retirement,he filled his days with what he loved most: crosswords, cigarettes,Sinatra, old movies and family.Jerry’s legacy is his appreciation for music, his sense of humour and his spaghetti sauce. All those who knew Jerry will remember him as unique. He was his own man; he lived on his own terms and he taught us all that a little attitude and a big smile can go a long way.
