Gordon Armstrong

In Memorial

Armstrong: Gordon Roy.
Born September 26th, 1940, he died suddenly in his bed, at the age of 76, on April 14th, 2017. He was a loving husband to Linda (nee McDonald) and a beloved father to Valerie (Ian Drummond) and Louise (Kelvin Baker). A devoted Poppa to Emily and Kate Drummond and Nicole Baker. Brother to Alma, Doris, Audrey, Joyce and predeceased by his sister Eileen and brothers Bill, Joe, and Ross. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Lizzie Armstrong. Brother-in-law to John (Mirella) McDonald and Lee (Tim Doyle). Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, 2 aunts, an uncle, many cousins, coffee buddies and the farming community.
Gord never lived more than 5 miles from where he was born. He was a life long farmer and loved the land. He will be greatly missed.
Resting at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel, Wednesday, April 19th, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by interment in Alliston Union Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshment will be held immediately following the interment in the basement of Trinity United Church, 37 Centre Street, North, Beeton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beeton District Agricultural Society, Box 209, Beeton ON., L0G 1A0, Trinity United Church Beeton, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com

    linda and family I was shocked and saddened to learn of gord’s passing.for 9 years I worked and owned my coffee shop gord was a loyal and regular customer.loyal right to when I was forced to close. he was a warm friendly man who was so proud of his family and community. this city girl learned alot about farming and the history of beeton.he was so proud of his family and community. Im thankful I got to know him and know that his family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. be at peace gord.you will be missed by so many.

    Linda and family, we were saddened to hear of Gord’s sudden passing. Please accept our sincere condolences. We bought our first side of beef from Gord as newlyweds 45 years ago, seems like yesterday. All the best during this most difficult time.

    We are so very sorry to hear of Gordon’s passing. Gordon was a great friend, and a wealth of knowledge on farming and local history.     Hugs to all of you…wow what a shock! I have always considered Val a sister and have always thought of Linda & Gord as my second mom & dad! I always saw Gord as a very strong independant person. I know Keith will miss talking to him about tracotrs. I will miss seeing him (especially at the Georgian Bay Steam Show) and giving him hugs!
