Jack Werry

In Memorial
Jack Werry
Jack Werry

Werry: Jack Dunne,
Jack Werry, 23, formerly of Schomberg, Ontario died November  3, 2020 in Kingston, Ontario after a long struggle with mental illness. He was born on August 14, 1997 to proud parents Peter and Leah (nee Roy) Werry.
Jack loved to create digital, computer based music. He was mostly self taught and attended Metal Works Institute to further develop the skills of his craft. He was spontaneous and creative and this showed when he freestyle rapped, although he preferred to create beats for other artists to lay down vocals to. He loved the collaborative process. Jack had a funky sense of humour and his laugh was contagious. Telemarketers were often engaged in long conversations to their regret and our amusement. Jack loved to eat and was daring to try anything new. He particularly loved root beer and salty pickles. He read graphic novels and was fond of the ‘Berserk’ series. Jack was an amazing snowboarder; a fearless natural on the hill. The pandemic was very hard on Jack in many ways but he found solace in long walks in the woods and in downtown Kingston where he could indulge his love of beautiful old architecture and delicious gelato!
Jack had a beautiful heart. He loved and was loved by his extended family. He will be missed beyond belief by his parents Leah & Peter & step parents Scott & Michelle. His sister Audrey-Ann, step-sisters Emily, Sarah and Jennifer and step brother Nicolas, are so deeply saddened by the loss of their brother Jack. Grandparents Bev and Dianne Roy, Clark Werry, and Kathleen McGill are heartbroken. Jack’s family circle included many members of his step family and his mom’s birth family all of whom were an important part of Jack’s rich family life.
Following Pandemic limitations on gathering size, an Invitational Memorial Service will be held for Family and Friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home in Tottenham on Wednesday November 11, 2020.
Jack will live on through our memories and yours.
If you wish to make a donation in Jack’s honour please consider supporting Children’s Help Phone, or the Nature Conservancy of Canada so that others may find support and solace when they need it most.

    Dear Peter, Leah & Audrey.
I can’t believe this and I am so sorry for your loss, I am in absolute tears,
most of my highschool memories I can think of were with Jack. We worked on music together and both loved it. But he was the most funniest person I had ever met, there wasn’t a single time he couldn’t crack a joke .
We wanted to pursue Music together, but I also told him he was so funny that he should actually be a stand up comedian, I will never forget the times we had and any freind’s reading this like the words he made as we all now as the snokemobile or Ve-hey-kle, everytime he seen a car. He was always so funny that he was so great at hiding his emotions. Mental Illness is a real thing, and if you have it, you need to talk to someone, Don’t hide it, because none of us wanna lose a precocious life. To jack, I wish your flying right now, I miss you bro, I miss you bro ❤️

    Dear Leah, Scott and family
Sometimes we are given challenges that are too much to bear. It’s clear that Jack had to be really suffering because this would never be an easy decision, and for many (including Jack) it’s not even a decision but the only option left. We may never understand why but we must just have faith that he is finally resting, at peace and in a better place. As one mother to another I feel your pain. Wishing you love and light and peace in the days ahead. Our deepest condolences to all.

    Dear Peter, Leah & Audrey,
Jack came into our lives through the union of his aunt Melinda and our father Phil. He was a great addition to our new step family and one of our closest step-cousins. We always looked forward to seeing him when we spent holidays with this side of the family. His humour made us feel included and his personality fit in perfectly with ours. Not only was he a new cousin, he was a new friend to the both of us. We have many fond memories with Jack and will always cherish our nights at Chuck E. Cheese and afternoons in Diane and Bev’s basement. It is with a heavy heart that we send our condolences to the Werry and Roy families. Jack’s vivacious spirt will live on in our memories, and although he is gone, he will not be forgotten. All our love , Emma and Rebecca.

My heart is absolutely shattered by the news… many years ago, the one time I got to see Jack on the slope.. he was such a great snowboarder. I still remember how he worried about me (not so good skier) on the rather steep slope.. every time he showed up at our office, every interaction was such a pleasure. Will remember how sweet and warm-hearted he was and his humour.

Dear Peter, Leah, Audrey and extended family. My family and I are extremely saddened by the news of Jacks sudden passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all during this difficult time. I remember Jack when he was born, and seeing him throughout the years growing into a handsome young man. Wishing him peace and love. I know he will be taken care of by some very special family members. My deepest condolences. Xo

Dear Leah and Peter,Audrey-Ann,Uncle Bev and Aunt Dianne,
Ian and I are so very, very sad to learn this horrible news. We only met Jack twice, I believe. The first time was when you visited us in Dorval and Jack crawled into the dog cage and was quite happy there. The second time we were all together at Tremblant in the winter. We feel so sorry for your loss and wish we could hold you in our arms to comfort you. Words cannot express our deep sadness. We hold you in out prayers. Love, Ian and Bev
