John L. Parkin

In Memorial

Parkin: John Lorne

Passed away peacefully, at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Friday March 17th, 2017.  John Parkin, in his 72nd year, beloved husband of Susan Parkin (nee West). Loving father of John Paul (Laura),  Jennifer (Shane) Bolton, Sarah (Brad) Mooney, and Andrea (Mark) McKnight. Remembered with love by his grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Emma, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Thomas, Alexandra, and Nicholas.  Dear brother of Robert (Gloria) Parkin.  Sadly missed by mother-in-law, Miriam West, sisters and brothers-in-law.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  John will always be remembered for his generous spirit in helping others, expecting nothing in return.  He loved the outdoors, whether fishing, swimming, cutting grass, or just relaxing in the sun.  The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 from 7:00-8:30pm and on Sunday, April 9th, 2017 from 1:00pm until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 2:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring John’s memory by helping someone in your community.  If desired, a donation to an organization that shares John’s passion for the outdoors would be appreciated by the family.  Suggested charities are the World Wildlife Fund Canada or Amici Charity, a group that helps send kids to camp, or another charity of your choosing.
