Dear Dear Aunt Bunn,
I only now found out about Uncle John. My heart aches with his passing. So many really fond memories of him. Right back to when I was just a wee little girl.
I’m very devastated for you and the boys, and your beautiful grandchildren.
May our Lord hold you all during and afterwards.
John will always be inbedded in my heart
Love, and many sympathies
Tracy.

Our condolences to you Elaine and your family at Johns’ passing. I was part of the Bradford council when John was the Grand Knight. John was a mentor to myself as I was new to the council. I have a lot of great memories of the different activities that we participated in, especially the Christmas parade, in all kinds of weather! We would set up and dismantle the float at your beautiful place on #27. I also remember when John came to my fathers’ visitation when my dad passed. He was just like that. Elaine you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.

It was with sadness to hear of John’s sudden passing. Memories of John were always with humour and storytelling with an upbeat personality – more of which we could use today. Miguel would often talk with John for a half hour after the Knights meetings. My deepest condolences to John’s family at this time.

“If tiny seeds in the black earth can grow into beautiful roses, what must the human heart become in it’s long journey to the stars.” John is a man who had a zest for life and possessed an infectious laugh. God grant him peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Elaine, Geoffrey, Gordon, and William. With love, Gerard & Emma Sherrer & George & Brian & families.❤❤

My sincere condolences on the passing of John, he was a once in a lifetime kind of gentleman.
John has been a solid fixture in the Knights of Columbus Council 4120 and the St.James Parish Community for years. His contributions are too many to mention and he would be the first to say that he doesn’t do much. He was hard working, humble, strong in his Faith and a friend to many in our community.
Brother John was a mentor to me. As a newly initiated Knight back in 2017, he spoke to me about the many good works that we can accomplish as Knights and the part that I could play in the success of our good works. He told me that “as in life, a Knight gets out of it what he puts in.” I knew right there and then that John and I would become good friends. Since becoming Grand Knight in December 2020, Brother John has helped and guided me through my learning curve. Brother John, being a past Grand Knight and District Deputy, handed on to me and to others in our Council, his successes and failures and how to learn from them.
His stories about his youth, his career in automobile sales/services, his many brothers and sisters, his faith journey and of course, his chickens, entertained many who were willing to listen.
John and I met weekly at the local high school to pick up my eggs from him. Often, these “quick” egg pickups would turn to one-two hour long conversations about anything and everything under the sun. We got to know each other and I think, at least, I hope, we created a friendship.
I will miss his big hearty laugh and smile.
May he rest in peace.

It was my pleasure to meet John one year ago on the Rosary Group lead by Deacon Michael Lewis.
I knew immediately that I liked this man……his sense of humour was great, one never knew if he was joking or telling the truth about the subject matter. He talked about his chickens as though they were part of his family…and I guess they were, as they were a big part of his daily routine. In the short time that I knew John, I could see that his faith was very important to him through his devotion to the Rosary.
John may you rest in peace, and may your family have comfort in knowing that you left a lot of people with a smile when they think of you.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Sherrer family.
We met John this past year in an online rosary group and were drawn to his wonderful spirit and infectious laugh. We did not get to meet him in person but know we will see him in heaven one day. May he rest in eternal peace.
God bless,

Lorei-an and I would to extend our condolences to Elaine and all the family. John was a wonderful man whom will be be missed. John had a beautiful faith and he displayed his faith with his prayers, attending Mass and his generous giving nature. We will miss our nightly conversations. My sincere condolences on the passing of John.
When I think of the Knights, I think of John and his friendly smile, great laugh and wonderful sense of humour that welcomed you to whatever event the Knights were holding.
During the pandemic, John was a faithful participant in the nightly on-line rosary led by Deacon Michael. During this time, we all got to learn about his chickens and their prized eggs and had the pleasure of meeting his granddaughter, Sophie, who would often join us. However, I think I will remember John the most whenever I say the Divine Mercy Chaplet as it was his suggestion that we pray this after the rosary every night and in doing so, it has blessed all of us. Please
know that since John’s passing we have been praying for the repose of his soul.
May he Rest in Peace.
