To me. John was one of the kindest,soft-spoken man I have ever met. I always likened him to a ‘gentle giant’, with a both a twinkle languishing in his eye and a twitch hiding in his smile, humour was just waiting to make an appearance!
John loved his tractors and his Parade of Lights and that amazing long Somerville lineage is something for Schomberg to grasp onto,be proud of and treasure!

Our family sends our sincere condolences and regret upon learning of John’s passing. I always felt welcome at the farm and so enjoyed helping with the harvest in return for some of the best home cooking to be had anywhere. It was a wonderful time to grow up and it was men like John, families like the Somerville’s, that provided the example for us to follow….forever grateful.
