Judy Hall Assefa

Judy Hall

Judy Anne Hall Assefa
(Born December 15, 1944 in Newmarket, Ontario) passed peacefully on May 6, 2021 at the Simcoe Manor in Beeton, Ontario. Judy loved life to the fullest. She was a people person, whether she met them in her role as a Registered Nurses Assistant, at church or in her community. Judy would give her last dollar to help someone in need and was always ready to share food, fellowship and laughter. In 1988, Judy met her soulmate Tsegaye Tucho Assefa in Toronto. They were a perfect fit and each became the others rock and foundation. Whatever extreme challenges and hardships the other had faced in life, once they met, they were no longer alone. Their love and devotion was legendary. Tsegaye, in his last years of life, took to walking from Tottenham to Beeton to visit his beloved wife at the Simcoe Manor. She is predeceased by: her parents Frederick L Hall 1908-1967 and Urla M. Thompson Hall 1910-1990; her beloved husband Tsegaye T. Assefa 1955-2019. She will be missed by her twin brother Jerry Hall (Wendy), sister Beverley Hall Pattullo, daughter Tracy Simpson (Donald), Grand-Daughter Vivienne Simpson (Austin), Great-Grandchildren Harley, Emerson and Willow. The family wish to thank all of the staff at the Simcoe Manor for their gentle care to Judy’s needs these past 7 years.
Respecting Judy’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham. Words of condolence may be sent to www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com and would be appreciated by the family.

Judy will be sadly missed by all of us at Fraser Presbyterian Church. We remember her friendly and sunny nature, her stories, and her kindness, as well as her love for her family and for her departed husband, Tsegaye.
Together they inspired us with their love for and devotion to each other.
We send our most heartfelt condolences, especially during this time when we cannot meet in person and must share our grief remotely.

Tracy, I have known your Mom from way back when and also from Fraser Presbyterian Church. I am sad for you and your family but know that she is in a better place. Being the jovial person that she normally was, I am sure she didn’t like being in the state that she was. I will always remember her wonderful smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
