June and family. Our sympathies to all there.
Leonard was our summer playmate on vacations in Bond Head and Ravenshoe. For country children those few days together each year were very SPECIAL , and all the Xmas dinners at the ‘kids’ table in alternate houses. Of course Family reunions each summer, last one at Leonard’s cottage on Simcoe. Those close bonds remained always ! Time together became difficult for all with health problems . Evelyn now 102, Marion 97, and me Beth 95.
We regret being unable to be with you all at the funeral
Sending love and caring .

Dear June and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this sad time. May all your cherished memories warm your heart and keep Leonard close to you forevermore.
June, I still have the beautiful ceramic plate with painted peonies on it, gifted to me by yourself and Leonard when I was chosen Miss Schomberg Fair 1979. You wrote in perfect penmanship a lovely inscription to me on the back of the plate. It hangs in my dining room.
Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and kindness. I think of you both every time I look at it.
Sending healing thoughts for comfort, and many blessings for peace.
Tony, Jacqueline and Leighton

Our Deepest Condolences to the entire family. Leonard was such a wonderful man who loved to tell and share stories with my whole family. I would often see him driving his John Deere to my house to check on the field beside it. We all loved to see him there and have a chat. He is a true farmer that was a dedicated man to his family and love of farming. May his memory shine bright in your hearts forever.

Our family offers our sincerest condolences to the family of Leonard King. Leonard was always so kind to all of us and very generous with his time and attention. He was the definition of neighbourly. Whenever you had an opportunity to chat with Leonard, he would always give you his full attention as if you were the only person in the world, responding kindly and thoughtfully. One would always be welcomed with a smile and leave after numerous updates on news of interest, fascinating tales of local history and even some tips of wisdom and advice in the most amiable and supportive manner. His regular friendly waves from his pickup truck, gracious offering of his time and genuine personal interest will be greatly missed.

Jayne Breedon says
Mrs. King and family, please accept my condolences on Mr. King’s passing. I was very upset when my Dad told me that he had sold my Grandpa Breedon’s Rumley. However, when Dad told me that the sale was to Mr.King, I was relieved as I knew it had gone to a great home. When Dad, passed, Mr King parked thr Rumley at the end of his driveway, so it could be seen by everyone who drove by on the way to Rod’s to my Dad’s visiting and funeral. They had great respect for one another.
May your memories bring you comfort in the days to come.
Kelsey and Steve Sbergio says
We were deeply saddened to hear of Leonard’s passing and send our heartfelt condolences to the entire King family. So many of you have been an important part of our lives since the day we arrived on the 5th. I have fond memories of Leonard’s yearly visits just before Christmas, and of chatting with him and June while picking up eggs or stopping by the farm. His reassuring presence often seen along the 5th on his Gator will be missed. We also enjoyed seeing his impressive tractor collection when he had it out on display. Leonard leaves behind a legacy that will surely live on through his wonderful and extended family, whom we feel privileged to know.
