Suddenly, surrounded by her loving family, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Monday November 28th, 2016. Ruby, in her 70th year, beloved wife of George Veysey. Loving mother of JoAnn (Erik) Petersen, Ellen (Bryan) Reif, and Bill (Sandy). Sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren; Jenna, Jacqueline, Ian, Kayla, Brandon, and Emma. Fondly remembered by her brothers and their families.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Wednesday November 30th, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 116 Church St, Schomberg, ON L0G 1T0 on Thursday December 1st, 2016 at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, The Diabetes Association of Ontario, The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ontario or St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family. www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com

    George and family, It was such a shock to hear of this great lady’s passing. Cousin Ruby was one in a million, a true kind, caring and gentle soul. I will never forget hearing her scold my Dad (her uncle)on so many occasions..in fact, I can hear her doing it once again as they meet in heaven! God Bless you all!

    Have very fond memories of Ruby with her large smile and outgoing personality. She made everyone feel special in some way and always was generous and kind with her time and knowledge. Guiding will miss her and so will I. I will always remember Ruby.

    I was speechless when I heard the news. Lots of fond memories of Ruby particularly working with her at trainings & camps. She was a very special person and will be fondly remembered. Condolences George and family.

    To Ruby’s family,

    I am heart broken on the passing of Ruby. She was a woman with a huge heart. She loved her family and community so much. I was happy to have had such a great person like herself as my Girl Guide leader. She will definitely be missed by everyone who she touch in her life. But she will never be forgotten. RIP Ruby! 🙁

    We were so saddened to hear of Ruby’s passing and are terribly sorry for your loss. We had the pleasure of your company on the river cruise this summer and it was so enjoyable and of course, Carol and Zenus’ anniversary party! Ruby had such a ‘joie de vivre’, which was so evident and will surely be missed.
