Suzanne Guillemette

In Memorial

GUILLEMETTE, Suzanne (née Caron)

It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of our dear spouse and mother, Suzanne on Monday November 21, 2011 at 10pm, at the age of 63, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She will be remembered for her generous heart and joie de vivre that she brought to everyone around her.

She leaves behind her dear husband, Raymond, of 43 years and her beloved children, Jodie, Annik (Jason Sawyer) and Daniel and her honorary granddaughter, Guillemette Jones of Kenya.

Born in Montmagny, Québec, she is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Annette (née Prévost) Caron and her brother, Réjean.

She will be sadly missed by her many siblings: Denise (Martial Chartier), Nicole (late Georges Bisaillon), Gisèle (Bruce Perry), Diane (Fritz Wrobel), late Réjean (Yvette Lortie), Benoît, Bruno, Claire and Chantal; her in-laws, the Guillemettes: Aline (Bob Hay), Gilbert (Denise), Denis (Lynda), (Andrée), Paulette, Richard (Suzanne), and Lucie (Darrell Martell); her dear aunts and uncles, over 50 cousins and over 50 nieces, nephews and grand nieces, nephews, as well as many friends.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to Matthews House Hospice, P.O. Box 10060, Alliston ON L9R 0B7; Huruma Children’s Home (cheque payable to 1st Presbyterian Church) c/o Jodie; Sleeping Children around the World (SCAW); Students Crossing Borders (cheque payable to Seneca College) c/o Jodie, or any charities of your choice.

Sincere thanks to St-Elisabeth CCAC nurses, especially Barb and Jen who were there at the onset, Stronach Cancer Centre in Newmarket where angels reside on the 1st and 2nd floors, Matthews House Hospice in Alliston for their care and compassion, Dr. Lussier, Dr. Nishikawa and Father Nick of St. James Parish in Colgan. We also thank Rod Abrams and his team for their expertise and valuable advice. We appreciate all those who donated food, flowers, gifts and sent words of encouragement.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 25, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Rod Abrams Funeral Home in Tottenham 1666 Tottenham Rd. ON, L0G 1W0. (905) 936-3477 www.rodabramsfuneralhome.com. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 26th at 1:30 pm at St. James Church in Colgan (north of Hwy. 9 on the New Tecumseth Townline and the 5th Line), followed by the burial in the cemetery and a reception afterwards in the Church basement.

Our condolences to Ray, Jodie, Annik & Daniel on the loss of such a great wife & Mom. No words can ever say exactly how much she will be missed. I always enjoyed talking with Suzanne as she was so upbeat and fun to be with. May God cherish her as much as she was cherished here on earth.

My condolences to Suzanne’s family. I knew her only a short period of time but her presence in my life had a big impact. Instantly I responded to her as a Light filled beautiful being, and felt peace when I was with her.

Dear Jodie, Annik,Daniel & Raymond. Suzanne was indeed a rare, unique, human being who unselfishly shared herself freely: with her beloved family and friends, her volunteer work at the Beeton Manor & our yoga group. May God comfort your heart & hold you close in his arms.
