My sincerest condolences to the Weston family. Our family has been neighbours to the Weston family for some time. I remember seeing Bill in his garage several times looking busy. Bill was a quiet man.
God be with Bill’s family @ this difficult time.

To Sandy, Ryan, Richard and Allison.
I am so sorry for your loss. I met Bill through Sandy in Yellowknife some 50 years ago. Seems like only a Nano second ago. Following our respective marriages we all landed in Airdrie, maintained close relationships, and shared the journey of parenthood.

When I think of Bill, I see a man who didn’t need many words to show who he was. He had a gruff exterior but a soft, gentle heart. He loved his children and grandchildren fiercely, nurtured his garden with care, and enjoyed a good beer—or two. Though he didn’t always say much, you could tell he was always listening, ready to lend a hand when it mattered most.

Following Sandy and Bill’s departure back to “Ta-Ron-O” as us Western’s call it, our visits were few and far between. Whenever there I would find Bill tinkering in his garage – working on the project of the day. He always put up with Sandy and I’s shenanigans -there were lots of them- without a critical word – just a restrained shake of the head on his way back to the garage, or a raising of the newspaper.

He may not have always shown it, or said it out loud, but he loved you all deeply. Keep his memory close to your hearts, and he will always be with you. When life feels uncertain, call on Bill in your heart – listen intently – he will share insight and guidance ever so softly.

    Sending you all my love,
    Deborah Spence

    Sandy,
Jay and I were so sorry to learn that Bill had died. He was a lovely man – always cheerful and smiling – and so helpful.

I remember a few years back Jay and I were planning a 2 week trip to Europe. We didn’t know who to ask to look after our pool until Sandy said. ” Ask Bill. He could do it. It would give him something to do.” We asked Bill and oh, the pool never looked as good as it did when we got home. He made it “pristine’ (his word to describe the pool). We were in awe.
