A great loss to the Bontje family and Tottenham community:

No matter where our humble beginnings may lie, our journey’s are shaped by family, friends, neighbors, teachers, co-workers, and all manner of acquaintances. In part, we owe our very being to a network of very unique and generous individuals…Individuals, such as Anne Bontje.

To everyone who knew Anne, she was undeniably an “earth angel” to many, and a loving mother hen to her FX children. Our family in particular, will always be grateful for Anne’s many acts of kindness during the ten years our son attended Father FX O’Reilly School.

With a heavy heart, we are grieving her loss.

Our prayers are with the Bontje family, and we wish them happier days ahead with no more sadness.

THE ROSE STILL GROWS BEYOND THE WALL

Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God’s free light,
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding it’s sweetness day and night.

As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
    slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall,
Through which there shone a beam of light.

Onward it crept with added strength,
With never a thought of fear or pride.
It followed the light through the crevice’s length
And unfolded itself on the other side.

The light, the dew, the broadening view
    Were found the same as they were before;
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing its fragrance more and more.

Shall claim of death cause us to grieve,
And make our courage faint or fail?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive:
The rose still grows beyond the wall.

    Scattering fragrance far and wide,
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will for evermore.

    A. L. Frink

    Rest in Peace Mrs. Bontje.

I am sorry that I could not be personally present to extend my sympathy. I always enjoyed the time we shared together. From our early days at Tottenham IGA, to Guidance at STA and most recently, at FXO. Ann knew her community well, was vibrant and upbeat in her approach; kind and caring in her interactions. We were proud to share stories of our children/grandchildren and would also compare travel adventures. She will be greatly missed! Sending you love and prayers. God Bless!

Both our girls wanted to express that “FFX Oreilly will miss Mrs Bontje!”. That she will be remembered as “so much fun!” especially on dress up days. And for being kind and helping them when they popped into the office when not feeling well. Our deepest condolences to the family.

We were so saddened to hear the news. Thank you for making my son feel welcome and taken care of at school, and thank you for helping me at FX whenever I needed something. Rest in peace, we won’t forget you.

Greg,Jason, Lisa and Peter, and, Matthew:
This is heartbreaking. I am so sorry for your loss. She gave so much love to you, her family. We will all pay it forward to honour that.
Anne was such a big part of the great years I had at FXO. She loved life and the sparkle in her eyes made you know that fun was just around the corner.
I am out of the country until next week. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you always.
