Mercer: Catherine Mary,
Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at her daughters home, on September 12, 2022. Catherine Mercer (nee Dobbin), in her 74th year, beloved wife of the late Harvey Mercer. Loving mother of Edward Mercer, and Carolyn Ellis (John). Dearly loved grandmother of Lily, and Johnny. Close by her side through her last months were her siblings Margie (Fred) and Mickey (Wendy). Forever in the hearts of all of her siblings, extended family, and friends. The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477, on Sunday September 18, 2022 with Visitation from 1pm until the time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 2pm. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Carolyn last week but so sorry to hear of Catherine`s illness –I am saddened to learn of her exit from the stage of life.
Catherine was a very important part of our family in Hr Grace NL many years ago when she was in her teenage years , She provided much love affection and care to my sister Alexis and also comfort to my parents –Alec and Maysie Moores
My Mother lived to 101 and Father lived to be 94 –they died within 6 days of the other -8 years ago .
They had wonderful lives and cared for Alexis at home where she passed at age 19 .
Catherine enabled them to do this .
My brothers David and Darroch also join me in this message to the family and extend sincere condolences to you all at this very difficult time .
You should also remember that Catherine met Harvey when she lived in Hr Grace and it seems that they had a good life together .
Life goes on –Catherine is now at rest and may that rest be in peace
