Curtis, what do I say? I know you told me that you’re not really gone but I still miss you. I will until we meet again.

How can I not. We shared a bedroom together growing up. You went with me to my first movie in Montreal, “Star Wars” with all the cools kids on our street.

When ever I got into trouble over my head, you always found a way to bail me out without going to Mom and Dad.

I remember getting lost is in the metro and Montreal and using my last quarter to call home and cry for help. Who came and rescued me at Berrie station and didn’t laugh about it too much. Well we are brothers so you had to get a few grins in on the way home.

I remember all the times working at the Ponderosa restaurant and you driving me to work when we transferred to the Longueil location.

I remember taking your car for drives when you were stationed in Germany. I’m still glad you didn’t freak out when Mom told you about my drives. No one was ever supposed to find out about those trips.

I remember you driving me down to the souix in your pick up truck to look for work. You were there a lot of times for me I hope that I was able to make as many good times you as you did for me.

    Wendy,Winter,Colby,Willow and Clifford:
I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that your husband and father will be missed and never forgotten by his co-workers from the Sault Ste. Marie O.P.P. Detachment. Curtis was a hard working “traffic” guy but always had time for a laugh. In speaking with him a few months back, you would never have known that he was battling this nasty disease! He was so uplifting and positive and spoke very lovingly of each and every one of you! He has definitely left his mark in the Sault and will always be remembered as the officer that went airborn after getting struck by a motorist at a R.I.D.E. stop and virtually walked away unscathed. Curtis truly was a Super Hero after saving the life of a young boy who learned one day that he was highly allergic to bees. Thankfully for that boy, Curtis was working and was quick to respond. I know personally that the mother of that young boy still thinks of Curtis and after 20 some years later wanted to thank him again last year, for saving his life.
I know that he has touched many lives and that he will live on in each and every one of us that knew him! Rest in Peace now.

We had the privilege of both having Curtis as our Supervisor and working along side him. We had many fun times at work joking and laughing on ‘B’ Platoon. Curtis you always had a way of making us smile. I (Amanda) personally will never forget the time when you found the turkey in a bikini picture we planted in your hat;)The look on your face… Priceless!

Never been so shocked seeing the OPP 8 day board. Wow! My heartfelt condolences. I came on with Curtis in 89. To his children, I hope you always remember your dad as I will. He had a real zest for life, always giggling, witty with a funny comment on the tip of his tongue – a real clown (in the most complimentary sense of the word – Curtis would agree!). I’ll never forget our Aylmer run one day. Sweating, he turned to me and said ” I wonder how the cows would enjoy having to run in 90 degrees after we had a big poop?” Priceless! You can stop running friend – you’ve reached the finish line. R.I.P Curtis. I’m still laughing 25 years later. Guy.

Curtis had a great gift, the ability to make people laugh at the most foolish things. Kevin and I used to love it when he would spend the weekend at our house. The world needs more people like Curtis and we are all going to miss him. Wendy so very sorry for you and the children. I will send you a letter with our memories.

I miss Curtis. And I feel selfish for saying that, because my sadness pales in comparison to the grief and loss that Wendy and the kids are going through. I miss his friendship, the kind where you can be together and not have to say anything. Laugh; but I miss his counsel, short and to the point. Despite his pain, Wendy and the kids were always first, and he never complained. Now that’s a Man, and I was proud to call him my friend.

Words cannot convey to those who knew Curtis best, just how much his loss means to Us all. He was the type of man who made others realize just what it meant to Serve His Country, The People of Ontario and most of all His Family. A True Hero and inspiration to Father Figures everywhere. We will miss his words of wisdom, his quick witted sense of humor, and long walks though the Hallowed Halls of Queen’s Park,BUT we will never forget the Man who made us want to do more and aspire to be better. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you all, and remember we are only a phone call away.
