Montgomery; Douglas Gordon “Doug” 1930 – 2012
(Retired from Ontario Hydro, Longtime member and former elder of Fraser Presbyterian Church). Passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Thursday June 7th, 2012. Beloved husband of Rhoda (Austin); father to Ronald (Nellie), and Garry (Rose) Thomson; grandfather to Laura, Bradley, and Tracy. Predeceased by wife Helen (Charlesworth) and three sons; Gregory, Mark, and Brian. Doug was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was a life member and Past Master of Franck Lodge No. 127 in Frankford; Past Master of Tottenham Lodge No. 467; 50 year member of Peterborough Scottish Rite;Founding member and Past President of Tecumseh Shrine Club, Caledon East; 50 year member of the Colborne Chapter No. 82, Eastern Star; and member of Five Star Chapter No. 269, Eastern Star, Alliston. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be interred in Stockdale Cemetery (near Frankford) at a later date.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Saturday June 16th, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 1:45 pm., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Doug will be missed by his many friends and past co-workers from Ontario Hydro. Doug organized a Christmas lunch in Newmarket for several friends from his past working carreer at Ontario Hydro, which was anticipated by all. Condolences to Doug’s family and friends.
