Although I did not know your Mom really well, throughout my teaching career any encounters I had with her were positive ones, always smiling and aready to face the challenges of the day. She was an inspiration to many and a mentor for those who needed her. God bless you all.

So saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Mullins. When she was teaching at St. James, my son was in a “reading recovery” program that she taught. At Christmas time she sent home a hand made card telling Santa how hard my son has been working and the progress he has made. This card was hung on our Christmas tree that year and has been every year since. Just wanted to share my best memory of her…

Words are never adequate in moments like these. We will say though, that our hearts go out to you, and we will always remember the joyous memories that we were privileged to have had with your family. To quote Helen Keller “What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us.” Flo is a so much a part of all of us.

It is hard to believe this has happen. Flo was our go to person for any school projects speeches, homework, church questions or cousins name we could not figure out. She did not mind “sharing” Kevin’s speeches with me in grade school and would call right away if she had heard if one of our kids was struggling in school. Flo recently told me a story about jimmy when he asked her “what would mother Teresa do”. I truly believe both of them lived their lives asking this question and were always willing to help others. She will not only be missed by her family but also by the community she supported all these years. Jen

When two kindred spirits are together for a long time they become one soul. If one passes on, they wait and beckon the other to follow. This was Jimmy and Flo. They have become one again for all eternity. I am glad to have known them both, and I will miss them terribly, but I know they are now together forever.

We share your sorrow and extend our deepest sympathy. Our community has lost such a very dear friend and an exemplary Catholic educator. Flo was highly respected within the S.M.C.D.S.B. and often asked to provide guidance and modeling of “best practices”. Teaching came naturally to Flo; her repertoire of resources was tried and true. “Mrs. Mullins” – you will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Thank you for sharing your love of teaching and your belief in the phrase “every child can succeed!” I was blessed to have you as my friend and mentor.

To the dearest, kindest friend a person could know, Colleen. To Ray, Ed, Richard, Kevin, Barb, Jack, Aunt Colleen & extended family.
There are no words to describe our saddness for you. Let’s hope that all the people who care & love you all can carry some of the pain along the way. Your Mom thankfully instilled what being a good person & an amazing teacher is in you, Colleen. We are right beside you. Rachel & Maisie x

Dear Kevin , Colleen , families and extended families I am stunned at the death of your Mom but the Lord’s ways are not ours to understand . Flo was a shining example of a dedicated , faith-filled teacher who worked tirelessly for the children in her care . For us she was our rock of common sense and kindness . I believe that in the deep corners of her heart she longed to be with her Jimmy again and now she is and will care for you all from a different place . No winter driving to worry about now . May God touch all of you with His healing touch and may Mother Mary wrap you in her mantle of love .

    To the Mullins Family,
We are so sorry for your sudden loss of you Dad & now Mom. It has been a very difficult yr for you. The Mullins Family is an exceptional family & your parents both made a difference in so many lives. Jimmy loved talking sports & was such a gentle kind man. Your Mom Flo will be remembered as an amazing lady that made a difference in so many lives. Teaching was not a job to Flo , but a career & never gave up on any child. Flo welcomed children to the Mullin’s home after hrs teaching a child to read, assisting writing speeches & a number of other things children were having difficulties with. The Mullin’s family helped the community in so many ways & I know that first hand because they bailed my family out more than once. Jimmy & Flo finished the race very strong & Flo you & Jimmy would definetly scored an A+.

Keven & Colleen and your families, please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of your Mother.
Flo was always ready to help out anyone who asked and she will be sadly missed by everyone in the community.
We pray that Our Heavenly Father will give you all the strength you need to get through these very hard times.

Dear Kevin and Barbara, Colleen and Raymond, Jack, Edward and Richard, as well as all of Flo’s own family. Our hearts go out to you at this very difficult time. Flo gave me (Anne) much guidance in my teaching profession: I learned from the best. We will all miss her dearly. It helps to know she has her Jimmy once again!

We are so saddened to hear of Flo’s sudden passing. Flo shared her time and talents with so many, helping to shape the young minds and hearts of the many children who had the good fortune to have her as a teacher and mentor. Her smile and warmth will be missed. Our community has lost a champion.
Our sincere condolences to her loving family.
