Mentor, colleague, bet placer, play maker, card player…. This was the George Sayewell I knew, whether he was at the track, taking a shot as a Woodpussy or playing hearts, he did it with gusto! Rest easy big man, you will be missed.

Joyce and I are saddened to hear of Georges’ passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. We worked in the same building for years. We played hockey together and golfed in many tournaments. George was one of the nicest guys I ever worked with and I am sorry he is gone so soon.

I am sad to hear of George’s passing. I haven’t seen George for maybe 50 years. As kids we played hockey in Maple. On skates George was a big guy. Usually big guys lack agility and quick moves. Not George. He could skate like the wind and was very shifty. One little deke and he as around you and putting the puck in the top corner. Gentleman. Condolences to his family.

Our sincere condolences to the family. At Teston United Church we knew the Saywell family through George and Doris and later knew George through work at the City of Vaughan. Was always a pleasure talking with him whenever our paths crossed. Sorry we cannot attend the service as we are away in Mexico until March 28.
    Our prayers to the family.
