Hagerman, Glenda Mary
Peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, surrounded by her loving family, on July 8, 2024. Glenda Mary Hagerman (nee: Sweet) at the age of 90 years.
Beloved and cherished wife of Brian Hagerman, and devoted mother to David (Quynh), Jim (Michelle), and Christine (Stephen). Loving Grammie to Jay, Thuha, Nicole, Simon, Jade, Cree, Keanna, Shanelle, Kooper, Jeffrey, and Cassie. Great Gramma to Atia, Spencer, Savannah, and Scarlett. Fondly remembered by stepdaughter Sherry and stepson, the late Gordon. Predeceased by her loving parents, Gerald and Olive, and by her dear sisters Joyce, Lois, Norma, and Esther. Also predeceased by her much loved fur child, Celine, and leaving behind her beloved cat, Jada. Forever in the hearts of all family and friends.
Glenda was thought of very highly in the community, and ran the Muddy Water Tavern for many years with her husband, Brian. She cultivated countless friendships with her patrons and with the many musicians who performed there, often giving bands their first start. They could always count on a large helping of Muddy Water’s famous wings while there; attesting to Glenda’s never ending generosity. Sponsoring teams like The Muddy Water Majors, The Bruins, and The Habs, she thought of the players as part of her family, and they often referred to her as “Ma”.
Her love and knowledge of sports was her trademark. Loving her beloved Montreal Canadiens and New York Yankees the most, she talked and debated with people about them frequently. Her dedication to her husband, Brian, children, grandchildren, family, friends, and pets, was unconditional. Her love knew no bounds, and she will be profoundly missed.
Glenda relied upon and was devout in her faith to Mary Baker Eddy and The Christian Science Church.
**As a fitting tribute to Glenda, if attending her Celebration of Life, please wear anything sports related. (Maple Leaf’s attire at a minimum- 😉 JK )
