Jeannie was all about baking, books and her boys. She greeted everyone with “My love”. She had style and then some. I have great memories of Jeannie and a couple of the mirrors she allowed me to have. I will treasure them and the memory of her forever. Much love to her family as they face life without her physical presence – but, no doubt, will remain in all our hearts and minds.
Wendy-Sue says
Jeannie had that ubiquitous quality of being able to talk with a wall and having it respond to her. She could carry on a brilliant conversation with anyone, under any circumstances, with no awkwardness or faux-pas just pleasantness, generosity of spirit and a sharing of upllftedness and peace.
You never left her conversations without an inner sense of strength and confidence, no matter how you felt before.
I cherish the memories of many lunches at the L’Haricot Vert, where Jeannie recounted countless stories of her world travels with Christopher and her amazing, eclectic collection of salt and pepper shakers from those travels.
Mike and Jeannie have been the perfect couple and together over the years they have nurtured a warm and loving blended family.
Anyone in their presence would be embraced in their sharing of goodness, happiness, generosity, caring and compassion.
What a legacy you have left Jeannie- I have been so blessed to have part of that!

I was so sorry to hear of Jeannie’s passing. We had children and businesses side by side, and life moved on, we followed family out West not to return, but with the magic of Facebook I have strangely become connected again. My memories of L’haricot Vert, popping in continually for her daily specials, her Christmas treats, our children growing up into teenagers, and her endless enthusiasm for life. May she rest in peace. ❤️

I’m so very sorry to learn of your loss Kit, Gaby and family. Your mom was an unforgettable treasure of a woman. A sweet, kind, generous delight who was always happy to invite one into the warmth of a conversation, an embrace, or her home – with a smile and genuine enthusiasm that left one feeling simply ‘lighter’ upon leaving and wearing her same smile that greeted them. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts. My sincerest condolences.

My sincere condolences to the entire family. From the time I moved into Schomberg as a teenager, Jeannie was always one of the warmest people that you could meet. Always had time for a conversation and I don’t think there was ever a time it wasn’t accompanied by a good laugh. I appreciated her kindness and will miss seeing her while walking the dogs. May she rest in peace.

I didn’t really know both Gaby and Kit since you were a bit older, I knew of you both since living in schomberg but it, wasn’t until Jeannie was at a nursing home with her mom in Newmarket that I actually met Jeannie. This was in 97/98 if my memory serves me well.
You mom was a floating butterfly with a beautiful smile, friendly and so very kind to everyone she spoke with.
I was able to have deep conversations with Jeannie and she was the one who put the idea in me of becoming a PSW. I went back to school, your mom checking on me as I strolled past the street your mom lived on, chatting about you boys and motherhood and also letting her know that I did become a PSW and was very good at it.
That is my greatest memory of your beautiful mom. May she rest in peace and always surround you all in spirit.
