Donald James Ryan (“Jim” Ryan)
Surrounded by family, Jim passed away peacefully at the Brampton Civic Hospital on Thursday March 9, 2023 .
Son of the late Pat and Betty, Jim was the proud and cherished Dad of Thomas (Michelle), and Dillon (Jessica). A doting Grandpa to Parker, and a much-loved big brother to Marie (Lawrence), Joanne (Leon), Dave (Judy), the late Andy (Holly), and the late Teresa. He was a special Uncle to the late Kevin, Brian (Elizabeth), Greig (Sheila), Jeff (Krystal), Jody (John), and Cassandra. He was also a proud Great Uncle to Joshua, Nadine, and Steven, Kieran and Anja, Van and Allie, and Audrey and Lucy. He is remembered with love by Paulette and will be sorely missed by his friend of many years, Errol as well as many other dear friends.
Our family extends our sincere thanks to the many doctors and nurses who worked so hard to care for Jim; their care, guidance, and compassion went above and beyond.
As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936 3357 on Sunday March 19, 2023, with a visitation from 12-2pm immediately prior to the service. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Jim to the Cardiac Centre of Brampton Civic Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

My deepest condolences for your loss. May Jim rest in peace and his memory comfort you and your family.
I worked with Jim at the school board for over 5 years. He was well respected and a class act guy. He did the crossword everyday and would tell me about antique auctions. I will remember the rounds of golf and Steak dinners at the Keg.

May you have peace, comfort, courage and lots of love at this time of sorrow. I remember all the fun we had as kids, playing hide and seek, touch tag, anty over the shanty when the family came for a visit when we lived on the tobacco farm. Great memories!
Love,
Shirley

To the Ryan Family:
Although we haven’t had the opportunity to see Jim for a number of years, this news still throws a gut punch! Herb especially has many fond memories of Jim while growing up on 10 Sideroad and a couple of canoe trips many years ago. My memories are more of teenage years and when he was married to my best friend Jenny. A gentle, quiet, shy unassuming man who loved his family deeply.
Rest in peace old friend……

Dear Thomas and Dillon,
We wanted to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences for the loss of your father. May the precious memories be a comfort to you now and may it help to know that many thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.
Thomas, we know how much you cherished your time with your dad – whether it was your annual birthday golf weekend or renting a cottage in the summer or just your usual Saturday dinners – we know how special every moment was. We saw firsthand how much Jim loved his grandson Parker and are so happy they formed a special bond between them. We promise to speak of Jim often and ensure that Parker knows he has a Guardian Angel watching over him as he grows up.
Your Dad was a quiet man, but always gracious and pleasant to speak with at family events as we got to know him over the years. We will cherish the time we spent with Jim and will always keep his memory alive. May he rest in peace.
With Love,
Rose, Jennifer, Charlotte, Bobby and Ken
