At Trillium Health Centre Mississauga, on Monday June 18th, 2012. John Thorne at the age of 80 years, beloved husband of Irene. Loving father of Gordon of Alberta, and Wendy and her husband George Palmieri of Palgrave. Sadly missed by his grandchildren: Lisa and Jordan Palmieri. John will also be missed by his sister Diana Hippel and his brother David Thorne both in the U.K.
A family celebration of John’s life has been held. Donations in John’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (112 Commerce Park Drive, Unit 1, Barrie Ontario, L4N 8W8) would be appreciated by the family. They were always happy times, spending time with my Uncle John. He was the Master of ‘Dad’ jokes and loved to spoil his family on his many visits home to England. I have the fondest of memories of him and the trips we did together. He was very much loved by all of us.
