John Viersen:
Suddenly at his home in Tottenham on Thursday October 8th, 2015. John Viersen, in his 80th year, beloved husband of the late Sharron. Loving father of Julia (Theo) de Vries, Henry (Barb), Debbie Boomer, and Ed (Yvonne) Boomer. Sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Tom (Cynthia) Viersen and the late Margaret. Fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Bud Hinds, and his many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Thursday October 15th, 2015 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service, in the chapel, at 11:00 am. Donations in John’s memory to Alcoholics Anonymous Barrie & Area Intergroup, 80 Bradford Street, Suite 622 Barrie, Ontario L4N 6S7 or the Heart and stroke Foundation of Ontario, 112 Commerce Park Drive, Unit 1, Barrie On., L4N 8W8 would be appreciated by the family.

My deepest condolences. I found out about John’s passing Thursday night, otherwise I would have attended. John will be missed by many at the Alliston Thursday night group. His message of hope and strength warmed my heart from the first meeting I ever attended (Tottenham) to until his passing.

From our family to all of John’s Family our Sincere condolences on John’s Sudden passing. He was a great friend to my father and will surely be missed. I for one will miss seeing him at the mall in town or at Tim Horton’s. You were always sure to have a little laugh when you seen him. RIP John!!
