I was very sorry to hear that the Historical Society of Mecklenburg and the German-Canadian community as a whole lost a most valuable and respected member. Very proud of his background, Otto Bollmann did not grow tired of promoting his heritage. We like to believe that his exemplary stance in this regard will have inspired the next generation to pick up the torch. In the name of the German-Canadian Historical Association, I extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Liselotte and the rest of the family.

Otto’s departure fills us with great sadness. It will not be easy to replace him as vice president of the Historical Society of Mecklenburg Upper Canada. His willingness to help with many tasks is unsurpassed.
