Peggy will certainly be missed. She had such a fun loving spirit. We have had many fun times playing cards. Peggy and Jack were neighbours of my parents (Ross and Molly Lang). They had so many good times together.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Ellison. She was my bus driver for many years when I went to Kettleby Public School. I will always remember her kindness and caring manner. She went above and beyond giving us cards on our birthdays, treats on the holidays and even decorating the bus. She was so much more than a bus driver, she was like a second mom always looking out for everyone. My sincerest condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.

Peggy was one of a kind and a real pioneer for women in non-traditional jobs. I know she loved to be behind the wheel of almost any vehicle, from the tractor, to the fancy cars of business men when she worked as a car jockey in Toronto, to the school bus, and finally to the golf cart that allowed her her freedom right into her 90s. I imagine she’s already got herself back behind the wheel and on her way to the community euchre game in the sky! Godspeed Peggy. You will be missed.

You were my first cup of tea. My first gambling partner at a game of cards and boy you never went easy on me. You let me pick some horses. I’ve never looked at multi pack of single serving cereals without thinking of you. You lived an amazing life and never were afraid to say what’s on your mind. Grandma you will be missed by all who met you. I’ll see you again one day. Grandma, I’ll bring my pennies.

It was a pleasure to know your Mom and talk of some old times and neighbors I really loved seeing her at bid euchre and being her partner, afraid of nothing that lady. I actually went down to cards and asked where’s Peggy. They said she had fallen and broke her hip, I was sorry to hear that. She was an independent and lovely lady. All the family lucked out having a wonderful mom, grandma, great grandma and great great grandma. She will be missed. Sarah

On behalf of the Staff & Residents of Riverwood Senior Living we take this time to express our deepest condolences to the family of Peggy Ellison. Peggy was that “firecracker” little lady that said it like it was. She was a treat to take to Georgian Downs even though she would never win (lol. Pegs participated in our Alzheimer’s Fashion Show in the spring and wanted to take the Police Escort back to her room (to show him a good time). She even invited him back for her birthday. Pegs you are missed already! God Bless. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Kind Regards, Kim Brown for Riverwood Senior Living

To all the Family of Peggy:

I am surprised and saddened at this unexpected news. She was such a strong and independent lady and in great spirits the last time I saw her in August.
She asked me if I ever went to the racetrack and said “if you do, pick me up”…
    She will be sadly missed.
    Please accept my deepest condolences.
