Scott Shelson

In Memorial

Shelson: Scott
Our precious Scott passed from this life on August 13th at home after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He passed with his wife Angela beside him. We wanted to keep him with us longer but couldn’t ask him to stay. We carry him with us as we travel on.

“And, in the end
The love you take
is equal to the
love you make.”
-Paul McCartney

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 18th from 1-4pm at the Gibson Centre, 63 Tupper St. West, Alliston. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Rod Abrams Funeral Home, Tottenham, 905-936-3477. www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com

I just found out about Scott’s passing. I played with him in Berlin and Teddy Boys. What a great rhythm section we were. We had such awesome times. I’m shocked and very sad about this. What a great guy. So sorry Angela and family.

Scotty was good at everything he endeavoured, especially social interaction. Fly away free bird and clear the path for us all.

I have known Scott since I was 14. We lost touch throughout the years but I saw him at the Downsview Reunion. Awesome. WE then kept in touch on Facebook. He was kind, funny, intelligent and a good friend. I will never forget him. RIP.

Scott was the bassist of the band Fear. These guys had a huge influence on me as a young teenager. The guitarist Alan Bergman lived two houses away and my friends and I would stand outside watching through the basement window in amazement as they rehearsed. I’d only seen them play a concert once at the Downsview Library at Keele St. and Wilson Ave. It’s a memory I’ve carried with me my entire life. I wish Scott a very heart felt fairwell. To all his friends and family my deepest condolences.

The thing I remember first about Scott is that he was one of the nicest, most friendly people I have ever met. …. and while he could Rock, with the best of them, he had a gentle spirit and was very quick to smile! xox
