Suzie and children,
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn’s rain: WHen you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine a night. Do nto stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die.

I am sadden to learn of the passing of Scott. We met Scott at the Bay/Dundas Project last year and want to send our thoughts and prayers to the family and children.
Although our relationship was brief, Scott always displayed a very friendly and professional attitude amongst coworkers and project staff.
He will be dearly missed.

How sad I am to hear about Scott.
Suzie, I cannot imagine what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the kids at this difficult time.
All I can think about today is all the fun times that we had (especially as roomates in Toronto and playing spin the bottle when we were teenagers). Even though we hadn’t seen each other for years, I miss his great laugh and beautiful smile already.
To the rest of the Walden clan, I know that Scott is an irreplaceable part of your tight family so I am also thinking about all of you. Keep remembering all the great times you have had as a family as there were many.
Love always
Jennifer

On behalf of the managment and staff of J.C. Rogers Sheet Metal, we are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of Scott.
On a personal note, I worked with Scott for many months at the Casino Rama Hotel as project manager for JCR and it was my pleasure to have known him. The construction industry can be a high pressure enviroment that can bring out the worst in some people. Scott was always kind and maintained his sence of humour in stressful situations and this always grounded people around him to keep life and the task at hand in perspective. I have always made it a point ever since the completion of the hotel project to drop in and see Scott whenever I was at his office. Scott could turn a bad day into a great day with a just a few good laughs. Our industry has truly lost a good person.
I offer my condolences to Scott’s family at this very difficult time in their lives. There was never any doubt when you knew Scott that his family was the focal point of his life. His children should be very proud to have had such a find man for a father.

Jim/Jean:
Nancy & I were quite shocked to learn about Scott, but obviously not as shocked as both of you. Our hearts and sincerest condolences go out to you and your family but particularly to you and Jean. This something no parent likes to even think about let alone experience. It’s difficult to know what to say or even how to say it. The only thing that comes to mind is that it appears from the nature of the accident he apparently was doing something he loved.
Keep in touch.

Suzie and Family:
I am deeply saddened by this news. I will never forget that day that I lost a very good friend. As you know, I have worked with Scott for 4 years and had the pleasure of working for him for the past 2 years on various projects. Also, we were the head of the social committee together. If I were to list all of my memories of him, I would need pages, but there is no need to tell you these memories keep playing over and over in my mind. I still hear his giggle loud and clear and the clicking of his cowboy boots walking into my office, so many things. He loved my nickname for him “Bubbles”. And that’s what he was, bubbly and full of life. We could all learn from him in so many ways, from the great guy whose heart was too big for his body. One thing for sure, he loved his family and I would never get tired of hearing stories of you all. I am so sorry for your loss, I cannot come up with the right words to heal your pain. He will never be forgotten by so many people and things are just not the same without him. I will pray for you all in these trying times.

Suzie, Shelley & Dan, Brad & Chris, Jean & Jim……….to have known Scott was a pleasure that only people who knew him would understand. Although I only knew him for a short while, his smile and his sense of humor will always be with me.
Any time that I was around him he always had a smile. What I remember the most was his teasing as he came into the office of the cellardwellers at Christmas time when he was visiting with Shelley and Dan.

Jeanne Steckenreiter says
Dear Waldens,
How tragic to read about Scott in the Record. Your family was such a pleasure to have at Lexington School and I do remember them all. Scott had such a joy of life and a constant, impish
grin that I couldn’t help but laugh. I last saw him at WCI’s 25th and learned that he had done a work term with my brother-in-law at the TTC. He was surprised that I remembered him but he was the one who talked me into buying a TV Guide subscription even though I’m an up and down the dial viewer.
I hope that his children share his love of life and adventure and that his motorcyle was one of those joys.
My deepest sympathy to you all.
sincerely.

Suzie, Mr. & Mrs. Walden and family:
I sit here in disbelief at the news of the loss of Scott.
From the age of 6 through middle school, Scott was simply my closest friend and the brother I never had. The Walden home was my second home; the one with the cool basement, the pool and roof you could climb on to from upstairs. Erasing Scott from that part of my life would be to erase most of my memories themselves; he was simply part of almost everything. Our early discovery of life, endless summers of exploration and pure fun and testing the boundaries of authority were all safely cocooned in the pathways between our two family homes in Colonial Acres. Those memories will remain with me forever.
Regrettably, as we grew up we also grew apart as new and different experiences took us in different directions. When Suzie walked into his life however, I knew that he had found his soul-mate and someone that he would share the rest of life?s experiences with.
Mr. and Mrs. Walden, Brad and Shelly, my thoughts are with you and the extreme loss that you must be feeling. But my thanks go to you all as well, for allowing me to share a precious part of your son/ brother?s life that allows him to live on in the deepest and richest of memories.
Suzie and family, Scott touched many people?s lives like mine, I am sure, but with you he chose to make a family.
Scott Leggatt says
I saw Scott infrequently but was always greeted with a big smile and a friendly shake.

To the Walden family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
Here’s a little poem that all of you might like.
We lost someone
With a heart of gold,
Who meant more to us
Than wealth untold,
Without farewell he fell asleep
With only memories for us to keep.
We have lost, but God has gained
One of the best the world contained.

Gord Davies says
I had the privilege of knowing and working with Scott Walden for over 10 years at Johnson Controls and Siemens. When I first heard the news of Scott?s passing I went for a coffee. It just seemed the right thing to do as when we worked together many a time we would grab a coffee and sit down in some coffee shop with a pad of paper or a blue print and work out whatever problem we were facing that day. Scott would order double double and I would order black.
Over the years of working with Scott I came to know his entire family through him as Scott being Scott would always have a story to tell. I heard about his skiing and camping, the cottage in Quebec, a cottage in Guelph, fishing and snowmobiling and whatever car he was working on at that time. Most of all though Scott would talk abut his wife Suzy, and his children Nicholas, Michelle and Jason who he was so very proud of.
At Scott?s desk back in those days

To Susie and family; i share in your grief and cannot imagine the sorrow you feel. I will truly miss Scotty and never forget the times we shared. Scotty was a great help for me in university. We suffered through some tough and hard times and we also found time to cut loose. I will always remember the dinners at your place in Thunder Bay. For alot of us that couldn’t make it home for holidays, Scotty opened up his home and family. Susie you made some great suppers for me. I remember the fun we had throwing garage parties at your place. We sure liked to vent after exams. I remember one ice fishing trip I took Scotty along. He was riding in the sleigh and it tipped over. We dragged Scotty for a 1/4 mile . He never fell off, but he was sure full of snow. In fact i don’t think he spilled his beverage. He always seemed to enjoy the moment and was truly a smart and caring man. I will miss him. take care.

To Scott’s family.
It was my honour to have known Scott over these past few years. We had worked together on a number of projects, but also managed to enjoy social outings together, where I managed to get to know him on a more personal basis. We had a lot of laughs as he was a like minded lad, which made spending time with him a pleasure. I never did find out if he ever manged to get his luggage back from Orlando! Suzie and family, Scott has left a positive mark on many people, therefore leaving him endear in our being. “slan a cairde”
